The IKA PEN electronic single-channel pipette (MPN 0020025103) is a highly optimised, ultra-lightweight mechatronic system solution for the precise dosing and transfer of variable liquid volumes in the higher microlitre range. Designed as a groundbreaking air-cushioned piston stroke system, this instrument combines an exceptionally slim, pen-shaped profile with a minimal weight of less than 100 grams. Material excellence through DLC-coated stainless steel

The technical foundation for volume generation is a high-end mechanical piston unit made of pure stainless steel. To permanently minimise frictional resistance and ensure outstanding chemical inertness, the stainless steel piston is sealed with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating. This sophisticated material combination guarantees unrivalled mechanical wear resistance and excellent reproducibility. To ensure comprehensive protection against contamination, parts of the pipette’s peripherals are autoclavable and comply in all respects with the strict conformity certificate in accordance with the international standard ISO 8655.

Smart operating concept with dedicated IKA PEN app

The electronic control system of the IKA PEN enables fine volume resolution in increments of 0.1 µl in this model. The pipette features an autonomous power management system based on a replaceable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, enabling a continuous operating time of up to 8 hours with a charging time of just 3 hours.
