The IKA S 25 KD - LR - 25 G is a specialised dispersing tool designed primarily for use in IKA laboratory reactors (LR series). The distinctive feature of this tool lies in its geometric design: it has an extended shaft (267 mm installation length), which allows for deeper immersion into reactor vessels. This is crucial for ensuring efficient homogenisation even at low liquid levels or with small sample volumes, without the reactor needing to be filled to the brim.

KD design for vacuum and cleaning

The abbreviation “KD” stands for a special sealing and bearing design that allows operation under vacuum down to 100 mbar. This makes the tool ideal for processes where air ingress must be avoided or which take place under reduced pressure (e.g. degassing during dispersion). At the same time, the KD design enables tool-free disassembly: the rotor can be easily removed, which considerably simplifies cleaning and sterilisation (wet chemical or autoclave) and prevents cross-contamination.
