The S 25 KV - 2802 (0020008825) dissolver agitator shaft has a rotor with a diameter of 30 mm and achieves a peripheral speed of 39.3 m/s at 25,000 rpm. IKA describes it as a high-speed agitator for intensive mixing and the breaking up of agglomerates. It is suitable for volumes of 0.1 to 2 l and is compatible with T-25 drives.
Mechanical seal and materials
The shaft is mounted in a ball bearing with a mechanical seal. The counter ring and seal ring are made of SiC, whilst the O-rings are made of Kalrez. Materials in contact with the product include FFPM, SiC, AISI 316L and AISI 302; the unit is FDA-compliant. It may be used under vacuum down to 1 mbar and at pressures up to 6 bar.

Position within the KV-25 series
The S 25 KV - 25 F has the same installation length of 270 mm and the same immersion depth of 40 to 225 mm, but only an 18 mm rotor diameter and a circumferential speed of 23.6 m/s. It specifies a final fineness of 5 to 25 µm for suspensions. With a 17 mm rotor and 22.2 m/s, the S 25 KV - 25 G operates (0.05 to 2 l, 15 to 50 µm for suspensions). All three tools feature a SiC mechanical seal, can operate under vacuum down to 1 mbar and under pressure up to 6 bar, and are constructed from FFPM, SiC, AISI 316L and AISI 302. Differences lie in the design (dissolver agitator shaft versus dispersing tool) and in the diameters of the stator and rotor.

A batch of formulation in a beaker, an emulsion in a 500-millilitre flask, a batch of cell suspension for sample preparation: the T 25 digital ULTRA-TURRAX is the classic drive unit for all tasks in everyday laboratory work involving volumes between 1 millilitre and 2 litres. It covers a speed range from 3,000 to 25,000 revolutions per minute and is supplied as a drive unit only, without a dispersing tool, so that each laboratory can choose the appropriate tool geometry itself.Electronic speed control for reproducible batchesThe speed can be adjusted continuously between 3,000 and 25,000 rpm, with a deviation of just 1 per cent. An LED display shows the set value directly, whilst electronic overload protection and an error code display ensure reliable operation. Without an attachment fitted, the unit remains comparatively quiet at 75 dB(A); the maximum viscosity is 5,000 mPas. For batches that alternate between low- and medium-viscosity phases, the speed can be readjusted at any time during the process without switching off the unit.Compact drive for the laboratory benchMeasuring 87 x 271 x 106 millimetres and weighing 2.5 kilograms, the T 25 digital takes up little bench space; the arm measures 13 millimetres in diameter and 160 millimetres in length. The power input is 800 watts, whilst the power output is 500 watts. The unit operates at 220 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz; a voltage variant of 100 to 120 volts is also available. The T 25 easy clean digital ULTRA-TURRAX is the drive unit in the IKA T 25 easy clean series, designed for laboratories that need to clean quickly and thoroughly between batches. The tool can be opened for cleaning without having to completely dismantle the rotor-stator unit, which saves time when changing products frequently and prevents cross-contamination. A dispersing tool is not included with the unit; it is selected separately to suit the specific application.The easy-clean principle in practiceTools in the easy-clean series are identified by the abbreviation ‘EC’ in their name and can be opened for cleaning without the need to dismantle the entire drive unit. This saves users the time-consuming process of changing tools and completely dismantling the unit when, for example, they are processing a cosmetic emulsion in the morning and a different formulation in the afternoon. A brushless DC motor drives the tool, which reduces carbon dust in the cleanroom and keeps operation comparatively quiet at 70 dB(A) when no tool is fitted.Display, timer and operationThe speed is shown on an LED display and can be adjusted continuously between 3,000 and 25,000 revolutions per minute with a tolerance of 2 per cent.
