The final fineness of the S 50 KG - HH - G 45 M (0008003500) ranges from 25 to 50 µm for suspensions and from 5 to 20 µm for emulsions. With a 40.5 mm rotor in a 45 mm stator, the difference compared with the sister tool, the S 50 KG - HH - G 45 G, is clearly evident: There, the particle sizes range from 40 to 100 µm and 10 to 30 µm, whilst the working volume extends to 20 l instead of 15.
Geometry and rotational speed
The rotor draws in the medium and forces it radially through the stator slots. With a rotor diameter of 40.5 mm, the peripheral speed reaches 21.2 m/s; the G tool, with a 36 mm rotor, achieves 18.8 m/s. The immersion depth is 70 to 250 mm, the installation length is 300 mm, and the tool weighs 0.52 kg. Working range 0.5 to 15 l, compatible with the T 50 digital drive.
Ball bearing and carbide seal
The shaft is mounted on ball bearings; the single-acting mechanical seal consists of carbide against carbide. Operation under vacuum down to 1 mbar and at pressures up to 6 bar is possible. Materials in contact with the product include FFPM, tungsten carbide (WC) and AISI 316L; the tool is solvent-resistant. The pH range is 2 to 13, the short-term operating temperature is up to 150 °C, and it can be sterilised using wet chemical methods.
Alternatives in the S-50 range
The S 50 N - G 45 F (0.25 to 10 l), which operates without the need for a vacuum, features a PTFE slotted ring bearing and achieves a particle size of 10 to 30 µm for suspensions and 1 to 10 µm for emulsions. The autoclavable ball-bearing version is the S 50 KD - G 45 G ST (0.5 to 20 l, up to 10,000 rpm).

Fits
If a process in a beaker reaches its limits because 2 litres suddenly need to become 20, a drive with more power and a longer arm is required – but without having to switch to a completely different system. The T 50 digital ULTRA-TURRAX covers precisely this transition, from 0.25 to 30 litres (H₂O), with a speed range of 600 to 10,000 revolutions per minute. As with the smaller model, this is a drive unit only, without a dispersing tool.Constant speed even with varying viscosityThe electronic speed control maintains the set value even if the viscosity changes during the batch, with a maximum permissible viscosity of 5,000 mPas. A soft start reduces the start-up load, whilst electronic overload protection and an error code display ensure reliable operation. Without an attachment fitted, the noise level is 72 dB(A); the speed itself is displayed via an LED and can be adjusted continuously.Powerful drive for larger volumesWith a power input of 1,100 watts and an output of 700 watts, the T 50 digital significantly outperforms the smaller T 25 digital; the extension arm measures 16 millimetres in diameter and 220 millimetres in length. Measuring 115 x 355 x 139 millimetres and weighing 5.85 kilograms, the machine can still be guided by hand. It operates on 220 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz; a voltage variant of 100 to 120 volts is also available. It has an IP 20 protection rating in accordance with DIN EN 60529, and is suitable for ambient temperatures of 5 to 40 degrees Celsius with up to 80 per cent relative humidity.Tool change using the supplied wrenchesA socket wrench for changing the shaft and another for changing the dispersing tool are supplied with the drive unit; the dispersing tool itself is not included and must be selected to suit the application.
