With a stator diameter of 45 mm and an installation length of 290 mm, the S 50 N - G 45 F (0008003900) is designed for applications involving volumes in the litre range: the tool processes 0.25 to 10 l of water on the T 50 digital ULTRA-TURRAX. It weighs 0.929 kg, and the immersion depth ranges from 70 to 250 mm.
Rotor, gap and final fineness
The rotor has a diameter of 40 mm, the gap to the stator measures 0.5 mm, and the peripheral speed is a maximum of 20.9 m/s. Final particle sizes of 10 to 30 µm are achieved for suspensions and 1 to 10 µm for emulsions. By way of comparison: the S 50 KG - HH - G 45 G specifies 40 to 100 µm, whilst the S 50 KG - HH - G 45 M specifies 25 to 50 µm for suspensions.
Principle and limitations
As with all ULTRA-TURRAX tools, the rotor draws in the medium and forces it radially through the slots in the stator. The shearing effect depends on the gap and the circumferential speed; for the S 50 N, G 45 F, these are 0.5 mm and up to 20.9 m/s.
Bearings and materials
The shaft runs in a PTFE split-ring bearing. The materials in contact with the product are PTFE and AISI 316L. The tool is suitable for solvents and abrasive substances; the pH range is from 2 to 13. Temperatures of up to 180 °C are permissible for short periods, and it can be sterilised using all methods.
When another S-50 tool is recommended
The ball bearing versions with a carbide mechanical seal allow for vacuum down to 1 mbar and pressure up to 6 bar. The S 50 KD - G 45 G ST is available as an autoclavable version with ball bearings.

Fits
If a process in a beaker reaches its limits because 2 litres suddenly need to become 20, a drive with more power and a longer arm is required – but without having to switch to a completely different system. The T 50 digital ULTRA-TURRAX covers precisely this transition, from 0.25 to 30 litres (H₂O), with a speed range of 600 to 10,000 revolutions per minute. As with the smaller model, this is a drive unit only, without a dispersing tool.Constant speed even with varying viscosityThe electronic speed control maintains the set value even if the viscosity changes during the batch, with a maximum permissible viscosity of 5,000 mPas. A soft start reduces the start-up load, whilst electronic overload protection and an error code display ensure reliable operation. Without an attachment fitted, the noise level is 72 dB(A); the speed itself is displayed via an LED and can be adjusted continuously.Powerful drive for larger volumesWith a power input of 1,100 watts and an output of 700 watts, the T 50 digital significantly outperforms the smaller T 25 digital; the extension arm measures 16 millimetres in diameter and 220 millimetres in length. Measuring 115 x 355 x 139 millimetres and weighing 5.85 kilograms, the machine can still be guided by hand. It operates on 220 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz; a voltage variant of 100 to 120 volts is also available. It has an IP 20 protection rating in accordance with DIN EN 60529, and is suitable for ambient temperatures of 5 to 40 degrees Celsius with up to 80 per cent relative humidity.Tool change using the supplied wrenchesA socket wrench for changing the shaft and another for changing the dispersing tool are supplied with the drive unit; the dispersing tool itself is not included and must be selected to suit the application.
