Not every application requires the full power of the larger T 18 units. For those who mainly homogenise low-viscosity samples and have limited bench space in their fume cupboard, the T 18 mini digital ULTRA-TURRAX offers a compact drive unit from the same series, which is noticeably lighter and smaller than its brushless counterpart.
Compact design, lower power rating
The drive unit measures 66 x 186 x 100 millimetres and weighs 1.8 kilograms, meaning it can be accommodated even in confined spaces. The motor draws 210 watts and delivers 160 watts; as with the larger model, the processable volume ranges from 0.001 to 1.5 litres (H₂O), with a maximum viscosity of 2,000 mPas. This makes the unit particularly suitable for low-viscosity samples; for more viscous samples, the more powerful T 18 brushless digital, with a maximum viscosity of 5,000 mPas, is the more appropriate choice.
Brushless motor with digital display
Like the larger models in the series, the T 18 mini digital operates with a brushless DC motor; the speed can be continuously adjusted between 3,000 and 25,000 revolutions per minute, with a tolerance of 3 per cent. The speed and timer are controlled via a digital display. The unit is powered by 100 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz; a USB-C interface connects it to a computer for remote control and documentation using labworldsoft.
Tools from the S-18 series
A dispersing tool is not included with the T 18 mini digital and must be selected to suit the application, for example as a reusable stainless steel tool such as the S 18 N - 10 G or S 18 N - 19 G, or as a disposable plastic tool such as the S 18 D - 10 G - KS and S 18 D - 14 G - KS for switching between samples without the need for cleaning. For stationary operation, plate stands from the R-1825 series with R 182 cross-sleeve are available; for securing the instrument during operation, the RH 3 clamping holder is used.
Cost-effective alternative for routine tasks
Compared to the T 18 brushless digital, the T 18 mini digital offers slightly less power reserve but is nevertheless suitable for most routine tasks involving low-viscosity samples, such as in training or for recurring standard processes. Its compact dimensions and low weight of 1.8 kilograms make it easy to move between multiple workstations, without the need for a separate unit at each location.

Matching accessories
An overhead stirrer such as the IKA RW 20 digital needs its own stand to hold the drive securely above the stirring vessel.
