Kern CPB 30K0.5N Counting Balance, 30 kg / 0.5 g, Stainless Steel Platform 295 x 225 mm

The Kern CPB 30K0.5N weighs up to 30 kg, has a readability of 0.5 g and counts items weighing 5 g or more. It is the largest of the three CPB counting balances, but the platform remains the same for all three at 295 x 225 mm. It has a higher load capacity than its two sister models.

Heavy containers, large quantities

With a weighing range of 30 kg and a resolution of 60,000 counts, one division corresponds to 0.5 g. The tare range extends up to 30 kg; PRE-TARE subtracts a known container weight in advance. The counting resolution is also 60,000, with a minimum piece weight of 5 g, or 500 mg under laboratory conditions. Automatic reference optimisation progressively improves the average piece weight.

Three displays, one target value

Total weight, reference weight and total count are shown on three separate displays with 20 mm digit height. Programming is carried out via the keypad, using a reference count or a known reference weight. The ‘Fill-to-target’ function operates using a target count or a target weight and signals when the target has been reached with an audible alert. The cumulative count memory adds identical items to the total count and total weight; at the touch of a button, the balance switches to weighing mode.

Measurement values and calibration

Repeatability 1 g, linearity ± 2 g, stabilisation time 2 seconds under laboratory conditions, warm-up time 120 minutes, weighing system with strain gauges. Calibration is carried out using an external weight. Kern recommends 20 kg and 10 kg weights of class F2, totalling 30 kg. DAkkS calibration can be ordered under item no. 963-128.

Mains and battery

The instrument weighs 3.4 kg net and operates via a mains adaptor with an input voltage of 100 to 240 V. With the optional internal rechargeable battery (GAB-A04), no mains socket is required. Kern specifies 90 hours’ operating time with the backlight switched off; the charging time is 12 hours. Mains adaptors for the UK (PFB-A03), USA (PFB-A04) and EU/CH (PFB-A02) are available separately. RS-232 is fitted as standard. The plastic housing measures 315 x 350 x 100 mm; with the display, the unit is 125 mm high. It is fitted with a spirit level and swivelling screw feet. The permissible operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C and 0% to 80% relative humidity.
