Kern CPB 15K0.2N Counting Balance, 15 kg / 0.2 g, Stainless Steel Platform 295 x 225 mm

The Kern CPB 15K0.2N has a weighing range of 15 kg and reads to 0.2 g. It sits between the other two CPB counting scales: the CPB 6K0.1N weighs up to 6 kg, and the CPB 30K0.5N up to 30 kg. All three have the same stainless steel platform measuring 295 x 225 mm.

Weight, reference, quantity

The three displays on the CPB 15K0.2N show total weight, reference weight and total count side by side; the digits are 20 mm high. The reference weight is programmed via the keypad; alternatively, a reference quantity can be specified. Automatic reference optimisation gradually improves the average part weight. The minimum part weight is 2.5 g; under laboratory conditions, 250 mg.

Resolution and measurement values

The balance has a resolution of 75,000 parts, and the counting resolution is 60,000. Reproducibility is 0.4 g, linearity ± 0.8 g, stabilisation time is 2 seconds under laboratory conditions, and warm-up time is 120 minutes. The weighing system operates using strain gauges. Calibration is carried out using external weights; 10 kg and 5 kg of class F2 are recommended, totalling 15 kg. The DAkkS calibration has item no. 963-128.

From target count to tare pan

The ‘fill-to-target’ function operates with a programmable target number of items or a target weight and emits an audible signal when the target is reached. The PRE-TARE function is used to subtract the known weight of a container in advance. The cumulative total memory adds identical items to the total count and total weight. A tare pan (RFS-A02) and spare safety covers, also available as a pack of 5, are available as accessories. If the balance is to be used as a standard balance, simply press a button to switch to weighing mode.

Connection and operation

RS-232 is fitted as standard. Kern supplies converters and adapters (AFH 13, YKI-10, YKI-11, YKI-12, YKI-02), as well as the CFS-A04 Y-cable for a signal lamp and a parallel printer. The device operates on a mains power supply of 100 to 240 V; an internal rechargeable battery (GAB-A04) is optional. Kern states an operating time of 90 hours with the backlight switched off and a charging time of 12 hours. The plastic housing measures 315 x 350 x 100 mm; with the display, the device is 125 mm high. It is fitted with a spirit level and swivelling screw feet. The permissible operating conditions are 0 °C to 40 °C and 0 % to 80 % relative humidity.
