The Memmert Compressor-Cooled Incubator ICP110 holds 108 litres and is the smallest of the four ICP sizes. It heats and cools in the setting temperature range from -12 to +60 °C with a compressor system that uses propane (R290) as refrigerant, and it is operated via the TwinDISPLAY of the ControlCOCKPIT. The external dimensions are 745 × 1,233 × 584 mm (W×H×D), and the door handle adds 56 mm. The unit stands mobile and lockable on castors.
One cooling system for cooling and heating
The cooling and heating system is CFC-free and defrosts automatically. The thermal jacket is separated from the interior, so an evaporator does not dry out the material. Temperature control is via an all-round air jacket, and the speed of the circulating air motor can be set on the display.
A restriction applies to the range below 0 °C: the unit is not suitable for permanent storage at sub-zero temperatures, and in continuous operation the glass door can ice up.
TwinDISPLAY and two Pt100 sensors
Two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A measure in 4-wire technology and monitor each other. If one fails, the other takes over its function. The adaptive digital PID microprocessor controller shows its values on two TFT colour graphic displays, and the temperature setting accuracy is 0.1 °C. Celsius or Fahrenheit, program runtime, time zones and summer/winter time are settable, and the interface is available in nine languages from German to Chinese.
The countdown clock runs from 1 minute to 99 days with target time indication. With SetpointWAIT, the process time starts only when the setpoint temperature is reached. The calibration function takes three freely selectable temperature values. Programs can be created, managed and transferred with the AtmoCONTROL software via Ethernet or USB port, and the program sequence remains saved in the event of a power failure.
Three monitoring levels for temperature
A mechanical temperature limiter TB of protection class 1 to DIN 12880 switches the heating off at about 10 °C above the maximum oven temperature. Selectable on the display, an adjustable temperature monitor TWW (protection class 3.3) or an adjustable temperature limiter TWB (protection class 2) is added. The third level is AutoSAFETY (ASF): the over- and under-temperature protection follows the setpoint at a freely selectable interval, triggers an alarm when exceeded or fallen below, switches the heating off when exceeded and the cooling unit off when fallen below. A self-diagnosis system supports troubleshooting, and the alarm is visual and acoustic.
When the ICP110 is enough and when another model fits better
The interior measures 560 × 480 × 400 mm (depth less 33 mm for the fan) and takes up to 5 shelves, with 20 kg allowed per shelf and 150 kg for the whole unit. If that is not enough, the ICP260 with 256 litres, up to 9 shelves, 200 kg per unit and 800 mm internal height instead of 480 mm is the next step.
Anyone who also needs to control air humidity will find the same volume of 108 litres in the ICH110 climate chamber. It actively humidifies and dehumidifies from 10 to 80 % rh, its setting temperature range begins at -10 °C, and with humidity it works from +10 to +60 °C.

These factory options are possible when ordering: 115 V instead of 230 V (X2), an interior socket (R3), lateral feedthroughs with 23 mm inner diameter (F0, F1), a silicone feedthrough with 40 mm inner diameter in the rear wall (F7), 4-20 mA current interfaces (V3, V6), fan speed monitoring (V4), a lockable door (B6), a potential-free alarm contact (H6), door-open detection (V5) and the SMS alarm MobileALERT (C3, requires H6).
