With 749 litres, the Memmert Compressor-Cooled Incubator ICP750 is the largest ICP version. The interior measures 1,040 × 1,200 × 600 mm (W×H×D) and takes up to 14 shelves, with 30 kg allowed per shelf and 200 kg for the whole unit. The chamber cools and heats from -12 to +60 °C, the refrigerant is R290 propane, and operation is via a TwinDISPLAY. Externally the unit is 1,224 mm wide, 1,950 mm high and 784 mm deep, and the door handle adds 56 mm.
Installation and transport
The ICP750 weighs approx. 249 kg net, approx. 319 kg in the carton (1,330 × 2,150 × 1,050 mm), and must be transported upright. At the installation site, 15 cm to the wall behind the unit, 20 cm to the ceiling and 5 cm at the sides to wall or neighbouring unit are to be kept. Because of the height of 1,950 mm, it is worth measuring the ceiling clearance before ordering. The unit stands mobile and lockable on castors, and the rear wall is made of fully galvanised sheet steel.
Interior and loading
Two electropolished stainless steel grid shelves are included as standard, and up to 14 shelves are possible. 30 kg apply per shelf, and 200 kg for the whole unit. The unit limit of 200 kg also applies to the ICP260 and ICP450, and on the ICP750 it is spread over more levels. With the factory option K1, support rails are mounted in the working chamber, on which reinforced grid shelves or perforated sheets up to 60 kg rest. Drip trays are available in versions for units with and without K1.
Control and programs
Two high-resolution TFT colour graphic displays and an adaptive PID microprocessor controller form the ControlCOCKPIT. Programs created with AtmoCONTROL are transferred via Ethernet or USB port. The countdown clock runs from 1 minute to 99 days, and SetpointWAIT starts the time only when the setpoint temperature has been reached. Nine languages are available for selection, including German, Spanish, Polish and Chinese. Three temperature values can be calibrated, and the program sequence is saved in the event of a power failure.
Compressor cooling and icing note
The cooling/heating system with propane (R290) is CFC-free and defrosts automatically. An air jacket controls the temperature of the interior all round, and the thermal jacket remains separated from the interior. Down to -12 °C can be set, with a setting accuracy of 0.1 °C. However, the chamber is not suitable for permanent storage at sub-zero temperatures, and in continuous operation the glass door can ice up.
Sensors and safety
Two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A measure in 4-wire technology and monitor each other, and in the event of a fault one sensor takes over the function of the other. The mechanical TB (protection class 1, DIN 12880) switches the heating off at about 10 °C above the maximum chamber temperature, and on the display you choose between TWW (protection class 3.3) and TWB (protection class 2). With AutoSAFETY there is additionally an over- and under-temperature protection that follows the setpoint and alarms visually as well as acoustically. A self-diagnosis system is built in.
Is the ICP750 the right size?
The ICP450 has the same internal width of 1,040 mm and the same depth of 600 mm, but only 720 mm internal height and up to 8 shelves. The ICP750 reaches 1,200 mm and 14 shelves. Anyone who wants to control humidity from 10 to 80 % rh will also find 749 litres in the ICH750 climate chamber. Its setting temperature range begins at -10 °C, and with humidity it works from +10 to +60 °C.

For the ICP750 there are factory options such as K1 (support rails), 115 V (X2), interior socket (R3), feedthroughs with 23 mm inner diameter (F0, F1, F3) or 40 mm in silicone (F7), current interfaces 4 to 20 mA (V3, V6), fan speed monitoring (V4), lockable door (B6), alarm contact (H6), door-open detection (V5) and MobileALERT (C3, requires H6).
