Memmert Humidity Chamber HCP105, 107 l, +18 to +90 °C, 20 to 95 % rh

The Memmert Humidity Chamber HCP105 comes with two stainless steel perforated sheets from the factory, and up to six shelves are possible. The internal volume is 107 litres, and the interior measures 560 x 480 x 400 mm (W x H x D, depth reduced by 35 mm for the fan). Temperature and relative humidity are actively controlled: +18 to +90 °C and 20 to 95 % rh, also settable with rh-Off. Operation is via the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY.

Housing, weight and loading

Externally the HCP105 measures 719 x 850 x 591 mm plus 56 mm door handle, and the net weight is approx. 75 kg. The whole unit may be loaded with 90 kg, and each of the six possible shelves with 15 kg. The interior is made of stainless steel 1.4301 (ASTM 304). Behind the outer door sits a heated inner glass door, and the outer door is fully insulated and has 2-point locking. For supply lines there is a humidity-tight silicone feedthrough with 40 mm inner diameter in the rear wall, centre left. The chamber is transported upright.

Humidity control and water supply

Humidity is supplied by a self-priming pump that draws from an external container. The water canister with connection hose is supplied with the chamber. The germ barrier is implemented as hot steam generation, and dehumidification runs via a sterile filter. The water must be demineralised or fully deionised, with a conductivity of 5 to 10 µS/cm and a pH value between 5 and 7. A central water supply for connection to the domestic water supply is available as an accessory. The setting accuracy of humidity is 0.5 % rh. To avoid condensate formation, door and rear wall are additionally heated, plus all-round heating on six sides.

Programming and documentation

With AtmoCONTROL, programs can be written, managed and transferred to the chamber via Ethernet or USB. The digital countdown clock ranges from 1 minute to 99 days and shows the target time. SetpointWAIT lets the process time run only from the point when the setpoint temperature has been reached. Three values each for temperature and humidity can be freely calibrated. Also settable are Celsius or Fahrenheit, time zone and summer and winter time. If the power fails, the program sequence remains saved.

Fault detection and protection

The two Pt100 sensors (DIN class A, 4-wire measurement) check each other, and in the event of a fault the remaining sensor takes over. AutoSAFETY tracks a freely selectable upper and lower temperature limit to the setpoint. If it is violated, the chamber gives a visual and acoustic alarm, and when exceeded the heating switches off. The self-diagnosis system covers temperature and humidity control. The environment may be 10 to 30 °C warm and at most 70 % rel. humidity, non-condensing, and the installation height is at most 2,000 m above sea level. At the back, 15 cm of wall distance are to be kept, 20 cm at the top, 5 cm at the sides.

HCP105, HCP50 or HCP150

Compared with the HCP50 (56 l, 5 shelves, 75 kg), the HCP105 brings about twice the volume and a sixth shelf. Upwards follows the HCP150 with 156 l, ten shelves and 120 kg total load. The ICH110 climate chamber has almost the same volume at 108 l, but sets -10 to +60 °C and 10 to 80 % rh. Anyone who wants to go up to +90 °C and 95 % rh stays with the HCP.
