Memmert IF110bw blanket heater, 108 L, +80 °C, Class I medical device

The Memmert IF110bw blanket warmer heats non-sterile cloths and blankets reliably and evenly to temperatures between +20 and +80 °C. With an internal capacity of 108 litres and space for up to 5 trays, the most compact model in the IF-bw series is ideal for facilities where pre-warmed textiles need to be readily available, without any noticeable temperature fluctuations between the individual trays and without the unit taking up excessive floor space.

4-sided all-round heating for even heat distribution

Instead of individual heating zones, a 4-sided all-round heating system surrounds the entire interior, whilst an electronically controlled air circulation system set to a fixed 100% further ensures an even distribution of heat. A DIN Class A-quality Pt100 sensor with 4-wire measurement measures the temperature with a setting accuracy of 0.1 °C. The operating range extends from at least 10 °C above room temperature up to a maximum of +80 °C, meaning that even moderate heat settings can be achieved cleanly and reproducibly. Uniform heat distribution is particularly noticeable in smaller internal volumes, such as the 108 litres of the IF110bw, as textiles throughout the entire interior reach the same temperature regardless of the selected shelf position.

SingleDISPLAY and data logging via Ethernet

An adaptive, multifunctional PID microprocessor controller with a high-resolution TFT colour graphic display (SingleDISPLAY) clearly shows the actual and setpoint temperatures and is easy to operate. Log data from the integrated data logger can be read out and managed via the Ethernet interface. A USB port is available as an option; when used in conjunction with the AtmoCONTROL software, this makes it even easier to document and archive processes, for example to verify that a specific temperature range has been reliably maintained.

Safety and Operation

For added safety, the IF110bw monitors the temperature electronically and also via a mechanical temperature limiter, which triggers at around 20 °C above the maximum temperature. An integrated self-diagnostic system reports faults at an early stage, ensuring that malfunctions are detected before they affect operation. The stainless-steel interior accommodates up to 5 shelves, each with a load capacity of up to 20 kg; two stainless-steel wire shelves are included as standard. With a net weight of around 76 kg and robust external dimensions of 745 × 864 × 584 mm (plus 56 mm for the door handle), the unit is designed for long-term, stationary use and can be operated reliably even with daily, repeated use.

The right size for every need

At 108 litres, the IF110bw is the most compact model in Memmert’s IF-bw range of ceiling heaters. If greater capacity is required, the larger models IF260bw (256 litres), IF450bw (449 litres) and IF750bw (749 litres) are also available in the same series, featuring identical control technology and comparable specifications, allowing the appropriate unit size to be flexibly adapted to the actual volume of textiles to be heated. This means that a facility with growing requirements can switch to a larger model within the same product family without having to familiarise itself with a completely different operating system.

Certified safety as a medical device

The IF110bw is a Class I medical device and is certified accordingly to VDE, GS, CE and UL standards. This classification is lower than that of the Memmert hot-air sterilisers in the SF and SN series, which are classified as Class IIb medical devices because the latter are used directly for sterilisation. For establishments that, in addition to simply heating textiles, also prioritise tested and documented equipment safety, the Class I classification is an additional, verifiable quality feature. Combined with electronic temperature monitoring, the mechanical temperature limiter and the integrated self-diagnostic system, this results in a multi-stage safety concept that is suitable for regular, routine use in everyday practice and institutional settings.
