Memmert IF260bw ceiling heater, 256 L, +80 °C, Class I medical device

With an internal capacity of 256 litres, the Memmert IF260bw blanket warmer offers significantly more capacity than the smaller IF110bw model and heats non-sterile towels and blankets evenly to temperatures between +20 and +80 °C. This means that even large quantities of textiles can be kept ready for immediate use without the need for repeated restocking.

Spacious interior for higher throughput

With internal dimensions of 640 × 800 × 500 mm, the IF260bw offers significantly more space than the smaller model without compromising on heat distribution: Four-sided heating surrounds the entire interior, whilst an electronically controlled, low-noise air circulation system set to a fixed 100 per cent ensures uniform temperatures. The adjustable temperature range extends from +20 to +80 °C, with the operating range being at least 10 °C above the respective room temperature. With external dimensions of 824 × 1183 × 684 mm and a net weight of around 110 kg, the unit is significantly larger than the IF110bw, but can still be used as a freestanding unit.

SingleDISPLAY with digital timer

An adaptive, multifunctional PID microprocessor controller with a TFT colour graphic display (SingleDISPLAY) handles the control, whilst a DIN Class A Pt100 sensor with 4-wire measurement ensures a setting accuracy of 0.1 °C. A digital timer ranging from 1 minute to 99 days allows heating cycles to be scheduled with precise timing, for example to ensure textiles are preheated and ready at a specific time when required, without the need for manual supervision of the process.

Safety in accordance with DIN 12880

The IF260bw monitors the temperature electronically and, in addition, via a mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 in accordance with DIN 12880, a standard established in laboratory environments for the safety of heating cabinets. This dual safeguard reliably protects both the appliance itself and the textiles inside it from accidental overheating.

Certified safety as a medical device

The IF260bw is a Class I medical device and is certified accordingly to VDE, GS, CE and UL standards. This classification is lower than that of the Memmert hot-air sterilisers in the SF and SN series, which are classified as Class IIb medical devices because the latter are used directly for sterilisation. For organisations that prioritise tested, documented equipment safety, the Class I classification is an additional quality feature. Combined with electronic temperature monitoring and the mechanical temperature limiter in accordance with DIN 12880, this results in a multi-stage safety concept for routine practice operation.

Flexible operation at 230 V or 115 V

The IF260bw is available with a choice of a connected load of approximately 1700 W at 230 V or approximately 900 W at 115 V, allowing the unit to be operated according to the mains supply available at the point of use. The electronic control system automatically adjusts the heating output to maintain the setpoint precisely, regardless of the selected mains voltage.

The right size for every requirement

The IF260bw sits within Memmert’s IF-bw range of ceiling heaters between the compact IF110bw (108 litres) and the larger models, the IF450bw (449 litres) and the IF750bw (749 litres). All models share the same control technology and operating logic, meaning that switching to a larger or smaller size within the range requires no adjustment. This simplifies planning for facilities anticipating growing or fluctuating demand for pre-warmed textiles in the medium term.

As all models in the IF-bw series use the same SingleDISPLAY operating logic, staff already familiar with another blanket warmer from the series can operate the IF260bw without additional training, which significantly reduces the training required when switching between models within the series.
