Memmert IN160 incubator, 161 l, +20 to +80 °C, SingleDISPLAY

The IN160 has the same footprint as the smaller IN110, with an internal width and depth of 560 x 400 mm, but is significantly taller, with an internal height of 720 mm. This results in an internal volume of 161 litres with a maximum of eight shelves, two of which are fitted as standard. Temperature control is via a ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY, with a range from +20 to +80 °C.

Same footprint, greater height

Installation requires a minimum clearance of 15 centimetres from the wall, a minimum of 20 centimetres from the ceiling and a minimum of 5 centimetres at the sides. An electronically adjustable exhaust air flap introduces preheated fresh air, whilst the exhaust air outlet with a throttle valve is also electronically controllable. The interior is reinforced with deep-drawn ribbing and features integrated, protected 4-sided all-round heating; the housing has a fully galvanised sheet steel rear panel.

ControlCOCKPIT and programme sequence

The ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY with a TFT colour graphics display evaluates data from a DIN Class A Pt100 sensor in a 4-wire measurement configuration; the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C. A digital countdown timer covers target times from 1 minute to 99 days; the programme sequence is saved in the event of a power cut. The data logger can be read out and managed via Ethernet.

Temperature limiter and door

A mechanical temperature limiter, protection class 1 according to DIN 12880, switches off the heating at approximately 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature; an adjustable electronic temperature monitoring system supplements this safeguard. Behind the fully insulated stainless steel door with a 2-point locking mechanism is an inner glass door. The permissible ambient temperature range is +5 °C to +40 °C, with a maximum relative humidity of 80 %.

Guide to choosing the right size

If the IN110, with its 108 litres and five shelves, is no longer sufficient, the IN160 offers eight shelves and an internal volume of 161 litres whilst occupying the same floor space. If even more capacity is required, the table below lists the IN260 with a 256-litre capacity and nine shelves.

With a capacity of 161 litres, the IN160 is suitable for incubating and temperature-controlling multiple sample series in the range from +20 to +80 °C, including in research applications.
