Memmert UF750 universal oven, large-capacity heating and drying oven with forced air circulation, 749 litres, up to 300 °C, on castors

Product information "Memmert UF750 universal oven, large-capacity heating and drying oven with forced air circulation, 749 litres, up to 300 °C, on castors"

When batch sizes exceed the capacity of a standard oven, but you still want a forced air circulation unit to provide faster and more uniform heat distribution, the Memmert UF750 universal oven comes into its own: 749 litres of internal volume, a temperature range of 20 to 300 °C and an electronically controllable air turbine that actively distributes heat throughout the large interior rather than simply allowing it to rise naturally. Fitted with castors that can be locked in place, the cabinet, which weighs around 217 kg, can be moved around the laboratory or production hall despite its size, without the need to lift it. With up to 14 shelves and a maximum total load capacity of 300 kg, the UF750 is designed for parallel batches and larger components, from materials testing to industrial quality assurance.

Forced air circulation on a large scale: active heat distribution at 749 litres

In a space of this size, the difference between active and natural air circulation is clearly noticeable. The UF750’s air turbine, which is electronically controllable in 10 % steps, circulates the air quietly and ensures that even densely packed batches reliably reach the working temperature range of at least 10 °C above room temperature up to 300 °C. A DIN Class A Pt100 temperature sensor with a 4-wire measurement system provides a setting accuracy of 0.1 °C up to 99.9 °C and 0.5 °C from 100 °C onwards, regardless of the load. Preheated fresh air is introduced via an electronically adjustable exhaust air damper; the exhaust air outlet with throttle valve can also be controlled electronically.

ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY: Operation and data acquisition

The UF750 is controlled via the ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY, an adaptive, multifunctional digital PID microprocessor controller with a high-resolution TFT colour graphics display. The following parameters can be adjusted: temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit, the speed of the forced air circulation motor, the position of the exhaust air damper, the programme duration, as well as the time zone and summer/winter time. The digital countdown timer with target time can be set from 1 minute to 99 days; the SetpointWait function only starts the actual process time once the setpoint temperature has actually been reached, ensuring reproducible results during long drying or ageing cycles. The integrated data logger can be read, managed and organised via the Ethernet interface; a time-limited trial version of the AtmoCONTROL software is available for download to get you started.

Capacity, construction and connection of the Memmert UF750 universal oven

The interior measures 1,040 x 1,200 x 600 mm and comes fitted as standard with 2 electropolished stainless steel grid shelves; up to 14 shelves are possible in total. The maximum total load is 300 kg, with up to 30 kg per shelf, which is significantly more than in the smaller models in the series. The external dimensions of the housing are 1,224 x 1,720 x 784 mm, with a net weight of around 217 kg. The interior consists of easy-to-clean stainless steel, reinforced by deep-drawn ribbing, with protected, integrated 4-sided all-round heating; the housing is made of textured stainless steel with a fully galvanised sheet steel rear panel. As a cabinet of this size requires correspondingly higher heating power, the UF750 is operated with 400 V three-phase current and 3 x 230 V without a neutral conductor at 50/60 Hz and a power consumption of around 7,000 W, rather than with a single-phase connection.

Selection guide: choosing the right size from the UF range

The Memmert universal oven series with forced air circulation covers a range of internal volumes from 53 to 1,060 litres. When choosing the right size, the key factors, alongside internal volume, are the footprint and the number of shelves required; not every larger model automatically requires more floor space.

ModelInternal volume
UF5553 l, footprint 585 x 514 mm, max. 4 shelves
UF7574 l, footprint 585 x 514 mm, max. 6 shelves
UF110108 litres, footprint 745 x 584 mm, 5 shelves max.
UF160161 l, footprint 745 x 584 mm, max. 8 shelves
UF260256 l, footprint 824 x 684 mm, max. 9 shelves
UF450449 l, footprint 1,224 x 784 mm, max. 8 shelves
UF750749 l, footprint 1,224 x 784 mm, max. 14 shelves
UF10601,060 l, footprint 1,224 x 1,035 mm, max. 14 shelves

Within this range, the UF750 marks the boundary to the very large format: With the same width as the even larger Memmert UF1060 universal oven (1,224 mm in each case), it offers 749 litres rather than 1,060 litres and is less deep (784 rather than 1,035 mm), with the same unit height of 1,720 mm. For those who regularly run bulkier samples or a particularly large number of samples in parallel and require even more volume, the UF1060 is the logical next step. Those who can manage with less than 749 litres will save a noticeable amount of floor space with the Memmert UF450 universal oven. You can find all sizes in this range in our Climate Chambers & Incubators product range.

Distinction: SingleDISPLAY, TwinDISPLAY and the natural convection variant

Within the UF750 series, the most important decision is whether to choose SingleDISPLAY or TwinDISPLAY. The UF750 described here operates with a single Pt100 sensor and a display; for unattended processes with higher safety requirements, the Memmert UF750plus universal oven offers two redundant Pt100 sensors, the HeatBALANCE function for fine-tuning the heat output distribution, and the additional AutoSAFETY monitoring, each with two TFT displays instead of one. Those who can do without active air circulation entirely, for example, because dust-sensitive samples are laid out in the open, will find the Memmert UN750 universal oven, which features the same housing design but utilises natural convection instead of an air turbine. A significantly more compact forced air circulation model with the same operating concept is the Memmert UF260 universal oven, with a capacity of 256 litres.

Safety according to DIN 12880 for unattended operation

In addition to the adjustable electronic temperature monitoring, the UF750 features a mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 according to DIN 12880, which switches off the heating when the temperature rises to approximately 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature, an important safety feature for overnight or weekend runs. An integrated self-diagnostic system assists with fault-finding, whilst the calibration function allows three freely selectable temperature values to be readjusted. The unit bears CE and EAC markings as well as a UL test mark.

Installation, operation and disposal

For operation, a minimum distance of 15 cm from the wall and a minimum distance of 20 cm from the ceiling must be maintained; a minimum distance of 5 cm from the side of the wall or an adjacent unit is sufficient. The unit may be installed at altitudes of up to 2,000 m above sea level at an ambient temperature of 5 °C to 40 °C and a relative humidity of no more than 80 %, non-condensing. Electrically, the cabinet is designed for overvoltage category II and pollution degree 2; it must only be transported in an upright position. Thanks to its castors, the UF750 can still be moved around the room within these specifications even after installation. As an electrical appliance, at the end of its service life it is subject to the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act and must not be disposed of with household waste; see Regulatory information below.

Typical applications

With an internal volume of 749 litres, up to 14 shelves and a maximum total load capacity of 300 kg, the Memmert UF750 universal oven is suitable for heat treatment processes involving large or numerous parallel batches.

  • Drying large quantities of laboratory glassware and sample vessels during multi-shift operation
  • Tempering, ageing and baking of material samples in series
  • Inspection and curing of larger components in quality assurance
  • Material testing in industrial manufacturing with varying batch sizes
  • Central drying oven for several workgroups, thanks to its mobility and high capacity

Investment rationale: Equipment tailored to the specific purpose

The scope of delivery for the UF750 includes 2 electropolished stainless steel grid shelves; the cabinet is designed to accommodate up to 14 shelves. Those who regularly use all levels should order additional grid shelves or perforated sheets. A full-view glass door is available as an option for visual inspection without opening the door, as are interior lighting, an internal power socket and a gas-tight interior for applications requiring a controlled atmosphere. Those who run unattended cycles overnight or at weekends and wish to utilise the additional redundancy of a second temperature sensor, the HeatBALANCE fine-tuning function and a programmable door lock with door-open detection are better served by the Memmert UF750plus universal oven than by the SingleDISPLAY model described here. A USB-to-Ethernet adapter and AtmoCONTROL software licences are suitable for continuous data logging. For pharmaceutical or standards-based applications, we arrange calibration, IQ/OQ/PQ and maintenance services, including DAkkS calibration on request.
