Nabertherm Muffle Furnace L 15/11/B510, 15 l, Tmax 1,100 °C, Flap Door, L-155K1AL

With 15 litres, the Nabertherm L 15/11 is the largest 1,100 °C model in the L/LT series with heating from two sides, from the L 24/11 upwards the series heats from three sides. The connected load is 3.5 kW, the weight is 43 kg.

Construction, heating and insulation

The body of the L 15/11 measures 415 x 555 x 515 mm externally, internally 230 x 340 x 170 mm remain as usable space, making 15 litres. Ceramic heating plates with integrated heating wire heat from two sides, for the lift door variant LT 15/11, 240 mm are added to the external dimensions when the door is open. The sheet metal housing is double walled with a ventilation gap, clad with textured stainless steel sheet. The furnace is insulated with a material that carries no classification under the CLP Regulation (EG) Nr. 1272/2008 and does without aluminium silicate wool (RCF fibre). It takes around 74 minutes for the empty, closed furnace to reach Tmax minus 100 K at 230 V 1/N/PE or 400 V 3/N/PE.

Controller B510 and process data

Process control is provided by the touch controller B510 with 5 programs of 4 segments each. NTLog Basic logs the values on a USB stick, solid state relays ensure quiet heating operation. A type N thermocouple is part of the standard equipment at Tmax 1,100 °C. The temperature uniformity according to DIN 17052-1 is +/-5 K, measured in the empty usable space with the air inlet slide closed above 800 °C working temperature.

Flap door and safety

The door folds forwards and serves as a shelf while doing so, an opening in the door regulates the air inlet, the exhaust air escapes at the rear. Those who need additional protection against over-temperature can order an adjustable temperature limiter with adjustable cut-off temperature.

Selection guide for the right size

For the higher temperature class at the same volume, the L 15/12 (article no. L-155K2AL) is available. If less usable space is needed, the L 9/11 with 9 litres shows a smaller alternative, more volume and three sided heating is offered by the L 40/11 with 40 litres.

Typical applications

The L/LT series is intended for use in laboratory and research. With 15 litres of usable space, the L 15/11 suits larger sample quantities at temperatures up to 1,100 °C than the smaller sizes allow.

Available ex works for the L 15/11 are an exhaust chimney with fan or catalytic converter variant, an adjustable temperature limiter, a protective gas connection, a manual or automatic gas supply system, and a thermocouple feedthrough in the rear wall or door. For documentation there is the VCD software package, for multi level loading up to 800 °C a charging frame with 2 to 3.5 kg per level depending on the model.
