The Nabertherm L 15/12 combines 15 litres of usable space with Tmax 1,200 °C. To reach Tmax minus 100 K, the empty, closed furnace needs around 99 minutes, the flap door serves as a shelf during loading.
Construction, heating and insulation
Compared with the L 15/11 at 74 minutes, heating up takes 25 minutes longer, the target value Tmax minus 100 K here is 1,100 °C instead of 1,000 °C. Inside, the usable space measures 230 x 340 x 170 mm, externally 415 x 555 x 515 mm. Ceramic heating plates with integrated heating wire heat from two sides, the housing is double walled, rear ventilated and made of textured stainless steel sheet. Insulation is exclusively with material without CLP classification under Regulation (EG) Nr. 1272/2008, without aluminium silicate wool.
Controller and thermocouple
Control is handled by the B510, a touch controller with 5 programs of 4 segments each. Process data is saved via NTLog Basic on a USB stick, the heating stays quiet thanks to solid state relays. Because Tmax is 1,200 °C, a type S thermocouple is used. According to DIN 17052-1, the temperature uniformity is +/-5 K, measured above 800 °C in the empty usable space with the air inlet slide closed.
Flap door and safety
The flap door opens forwards and can be used as a shelf while doing so, an opening in the door regulates the air inlet, exhaust is removed via the rear wall. Additional protection against over-temperature is provided by the optionally orderable adjustable temperature limiter with adjustable cut-off temperature.
Selection guide for the right temperature class
If the lower temperature class is sufficient, the L 15/11 (article no. L-155K1AL) with a type N thermocouple is the alternative. More usable space at Tmax 1,200 °C is offered by the L 24/12, the L 40/12 and the L 60/12 with heating from three sides, all on request.
Typical applications
The L/LT series is intended for use in laboratory and research. The L 15/12 suits where 15 litres of usable space are sufficient, but the samples need temperatures up to 1,200 °C.

Individual requirements and procurement service
For the L 15/12, an exhaust chimney with fan or catalytic converter variant, a temperature limiter, a protective gas connection, and a manual or automatic gas supply system can be ordered ex works. In addition, there is the thermocouple feedthrough in the rear wall or door, the VCD software package for documentation, and for multi level loading up to 800 °C a charging frame (2 to 3.5 kg per level, depending on the model).
