Nabertherm Muffle Furnace L 9/12/B510, 9 l, Tmax 1,200 °C, Flap Door, L-095K2AL

Product information "Nabertherm Muffle Furnace L 9/12/B510, 9 l, Tmax 1,200 °C, Flap Door, L-095K2AL"

The Nabertherm L 9/12 offers 9 litres of usable space at Tmax 1,200 °C. With a heating time of around 78 minutes, it needs considerably longer than the 1,100 °C sister model, but in return it covers the higher temperature class with a type S thermocouple.

Construction, heating and insulation

The L 9/12 takes 78 minutes, empty and closed, to reach Tmax minus 100 K, that is 1,100 °C. The L 9/11 reaches its target value of 1,000 °C in 63 minutes, 15 minutes earlier. The usable space remains the same size at 235 x 240 x 170 mm, externally the furnace measures 415 x 455 x 515 mm. Heating is on both sides via ceramic plates with embedded heating wire, installed in the double walled, rear ventilated housing made of textured stainless steel sheet. For insulation, Nabertherm uses a material that carries no CLP classification under Regulation (EG) Nr. 1272/2008, aluminium silicate wool is not used.

Controller and thermocouple

The L 9/12 is operated via the B510, a touch controller with 5 programs of 4 segments each. A USB stick records the process data via NTLog Basic, solid state relays keep the heating quiet. In the empty usable space with the air inlet slide closed and above 800 °C working temperature, the temperature uniformity according to DIN 17052-1 is +/-5 K.

Flap door and safety

The flap door can be used as a shelf during loading, an opening in the door regulates the air inlet, the exhaust air escapes at the rear. More protection against over-temperature is offered by the optionally available adjustable temperature limiter with adjustable cut-off temperature.

Selection guide for the right temperature class

Those who do not need to go beyond 1,100 °C will find the version with a type N thermocouple in the L 9/11 (article no. L-095K1AL). For more usable space at 1,200 °C, the L 15/12 with 15 litres is available.

Typical applications

The L/LT series is intended for use in laboratory and research. The L 9/12 suits where 9 litres of usable space are sufficient, but the samples need temperatures up to 1,200 °C.

  • Laboratory samples requiring temperatures up to 1,200 °C
  • Research setups with 9 litres of usable space

Regulatory information

The device is an electrical appliance within the meaning of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). The WEEE registration number of the manufacturer Nabertherm GmbH is DE 31598342. Information on the return of old appliances can be found on our Environment and disposal page.

Individual requirements and procurement service

Additional equipment for the L 9/12 is available ex works in the form of an exhaust chimney (also with fan or catalytic converter), a temperature limiter, a protective gas connection for purging with non-flammable process gases, and a manual or automatic gas supply system. In addition, there is a thermocouple feedthrough in the rear wall or door, the VCD software package, and a charging frame for several levels up to 800 °C (2 to 3.5 kg per level, depending on the model). A conversation with LT Laborhandel is the best way to clarify which combination suits the process.
