Unicare Black Latex, Latex gloves, Black, Powder-free, 100 pieces - S, GS2902

Unigloves Unicare Black Latex gloves are the only latex option in this colour range and therefore differ fundamentally from the nitrile gloves in the Pearl range: they are made from natural latex rather than nitrile and are therefore not latex-free. Unicare is Unigloves’ core product range. The gloves are powder-free, with a micro-textured palm for a secure grip and a rolled cuff. Unicare Black Latex gloves are sold in a carton containing 1,000 pieces (10 boxes of 100 pieces each), in four sizes from S to XL, excluding size XS.

Natural latex instead of nitrile: greater thickness, but allergy warning

As a natural latex glove, Unicare Black Latex is 0.11 mm (± 0.02 mm) thick on the palm and 0.12 mm (± 0.02 mm) at the fingertips, which results in a more robust feel. As natural latex contains the allergen natural rubber latex, this glove is not suitable for people with a known latex allergy (Type I); in such cases, a nitrile glove from the Pearl range is a suitable latex-free alternative. The median tear strength is at least 6.0 N both before and after artificial ageing, whilst the AQL value in the water resistance test is 1.5.

Chemical protection in accordance with EN 374, Category III, Type B

Unicare Black Latex is certified to EN 374, Category III, Type B; this is a different protection class to the Type C classification of the Nitrile Pearl gloves in this range. In addition, the glove provides protection against viruses in accordance with EN ISO 374-5. It complies with EN 455 (Parts 1 to 4) for medical disposable gloves as well as EN 420, and is manufactured under a quality management system certified to EN ISO 13485:2016, which is an older generation of certification than the 2021 version documented for several Nitril-Pearl colours. As personal protective equipment, the glove is classified in PPE Category III. Typical applications

Unicare Black Latex is suitable for applications where the elasticity of natural latex is valued and there are no known latex allergies amongst staff:

• Applications where the high elasticity of natural latex is preferred over nitrile, for example for work requiring a particularly precise fit
• Cleaning and disinfection tasks within the scope of the certified EN 374 Category III, Type B
• Businesses that specifically use black as a contrasting colour to improve the visibility of light-coloured residues
• Areas of use where there are no known latex allergies amongst staff

As this is a natural latex glove, it is worth briefly checking with the team before ordering to see if there are any known latex allergies. If this is the case, the Black Pearl from the nitrile range offers a colour-matched, latex-free alternative.

Packaging for ongoing requirements

The box containing 1,000 gloves, divided into 10 boxes of 100 each, is suitable for businesses with regular consumption, such as cleaning services, workshops or medical practices with multiple workstations. The individual boxes of 100 can be placed at different workstations independently of one another without having to open the entire carton, which keeps the remaining boxes sealed and ready to hand for longer.
