Meditrade Gentle Skin Grip, latex examination gloves, powder-free, 100 pieces – M, 1221GRIP-M
Wet instruments, oily tools or slippery packaging put many disposable gloves to the test: as soon as the surface becomes damp or greasy, the grip decreases noticeably. According to the manufacturer, Meditrade Gentle Skin Grip latex examination gloves are the most grippy latex gloves in the Meditrade range. An acrylic polymer coating on a textured surface provides extra grip where smooth gloves reach their limits. Available in sizes XS to XL, each in packs of 100. Acrylic polymer coating for extra grip In addition to the ingredients typically found in latex gloves, natural rubber latex, sulphur, zinc oxide, zinc diethyldithiocarbamate, zinc dibutyl dithiocarbamate, titanium dioxide and antioxidants, the Grip range also features an acrylic polymer coating on the textured surface. This coating is the key difference compared to traditional latex gloves without any special grip optimisation and, according to the manufacturer, improves grip, particularly when handling damp, oily or powdery surfaces. The glove is free from mercaptobenzothiazole and thiurams. Why smooth gloves reach their limits in wet conditions A purely textured glove without an additional coating loses some of its grip when it comes into contact with water, oil or cleaning agents, because a thin film of liquid forms between the glove and the workpiece. Low-protein thanks to a multi-stage processing method Natural latex naturally contains water-soluble proteins which can trigger skin reactions in sensitised individuals. Long tattoo sessions and kitchen work involving frequent contact with washing-up water have one thing in common: if the cuff is too short, liquid can quickly seep into the glove at the wrist. Unigloves has developed the Select Black 300 specifically for this scenario, described by the manufacturer itself as ‘The Long Creative’, the extended version of the black disposable latex glove, the Select Black. With a cuff length of 295 mm (± 5 mm), around 55 mm longer than the standard version, it provides additional protection for the wrist and part of the forearm. They are sold in a carton of 1,000 gloves, divided into 10 boxes of 100 gloves each, in five sizes from XS to XL. Extended cuff and non-slip, chlorinated surface The name derives from the length: the technical data sheet specifies 295 ± 5 mm for size XS, and at least 295 ± 5 mm for sizes S to XL; the model designation ‘300’ rounds off this figure. At 0.16 ± 0.03 mm, the palm is noticeably thicker than on the standard Select Black version (0.11 mm), which provides additional durability during prolonged contact with water or cleaning agents; the same applies to the fingertips, which measure 0.16 ± 0.03 mm. The cuff itself is also documented as being 0.11 ± 0.02 mm thick, a measurement for which no value is given in the data sheet for the shorter Select Black version. Certified to EN 455 and PPE Category III The glove complies with EN 455 (Parts 1 to 4) for single-use medical gloves and is manufactured under a quality management system certified to DIN EN ISO 13485:2021. The type examination was carried out in accordance with Module B and Module C2 of the PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 by the notified body CCQS (No. 2834); this combination of modules is intended exclusively for the highest PPE Category III. In the 1,000 ml water-tightness test, the glove achieves a high level of impermeability with an AQL value of 1.5; it is also food-safe. Unigloves Unicare Black Latex gloves are the only latex option in this colour range and therefore differ fundamentally from the nitrile gloves in the Pearl range: they are made from natural latex rather than nitrile and are therefore not latex-free. Unicare is Unigloves’ core product range. The gloves are powder-free, with a micro-textured palm for a secure grip and a rolled cuff. Unicare Black Latex gloves are sold in a carton containing 1,000 pieces (10 boxes of 100 pieces each), in four sizes from S to XL, excluding size XS. Natural latex instead of nitrile: greater thickness, but allergy warning As a natural latex glove, Unicare Black Latex is 0.11 mm (± 0.02 mm) thick on the palm and 0.12 mm (± 0.02 mm) at the fingertips, which results in a more robust feel. As natural latex contains the allergen natural rubber latex, this glove is not suitable for people with a known latex allergy (Type I); in such cases, a nitrile glove from the Pearl range is a suitable latex-free alternative.
