Elma Elmasonic Select 100 Ultrasonic Bath with Heating, 9.5 Litre, 37 kHz, 1106991

Carburettors, filters and industrial components are among the items cleaned in the Select series. For this, the Elma Elmasonic Select 100 has a tank of 280 x 220 x 145 mm and 9.5 litres total volume. The tank is deeper than that of the Select 80, which at a similar volume is only 110 mm deep. The ultrasonic frequency is 37 kHz, and the heater delivers 400 W.

Area and fill level

The unit is filled to 115 mm, and the distance from the basket floor to the liquid level is 80 mm. The original accessory basket has internal dimensions of 255 x 200 x 70 mm and takes up to 6 kg. Externally the unit measures 380 x 300 x 280 mm with lid and weighs 6.2 kg. The plastic lid is part of the scope of delivery and can be turned upside down and used as a drip tray for the basket. The fill level of 115 mm and the recommended working volume of 6.8 litres match the values of the Select 80, although the tank is shaped differently.

Ultrasound and modes

The effective ultrasonic power is 150 W, the peak power 600 W, and the total power consumption 550 W. The unit has five modes. Eco stands for gentler cleaning, Sweep for evenly distributed action, and Pulse for increased peak power against stubborn soiling. Dynamic combines Pulse and Sweep, and Degas degasses the medium before cleaning. Auto-Degas and the temperature-controlled start are also available. Four programs store combinations of mode, duration and temperature.

Drain and operation

The medium is drained via a G 3/8 inch drain connection that can be opened and closed with a rotary switch. The DN10 hose nozzle is included. On the display, the duration between 1 minute and 6 hours and the setpoint temperature between 25 and 80 °C are set with plus and minus keys, and the limit temperature can be set to 40 to 60 °C. An acoustic signal confirms inputs. Dry-run protection is active when the heating is on, and after 8 hours the unit switches off.

Select 100 and the neighbouring sizes

The Elmasonic Select 80 offers 9.3 litres in a tank of 475 x 110 x 145 mm and 600 W heating power. The Elmasonic Select 120 has a similar footprint at 300 x 215 mm, but a tank height of 195 instead of 145 mm, giving 12.9 litres, plus 200 W effective ultrasonic power and 800 W heating power. Stainless steel lid and insert lid for four cleaning glasses or beakers are the same article at Elma for both sizes, 100 and 120.
