Heidolph Duomax 1030 Platform Shaker, 5° Rocking, 2 to 50 rpm, 543-32205-00

Product information "Heidolph Duomax 1030 Platform Shaker, 5° Rocking, 2 to 50 rpm, 543-32205-00"

An immunoassay on a microtitre plate or a dye that is intended to be absorbed slowly into a gel rarely withstands vigorous, linear shaking. Instead, the Duomax 1030 tilts the working surface by 5 degrees in a rocking motion, driven by an asynchronous motor operating at a speed of between 2 and 50 revolutions per minute, significantly slower than the reciprocating Promax 1020.

Non-slip surface

A rubber mat prevents vessels from slipping on the inclined surface, even when the speed is at the upper end of the range. The sound pressure level remains below 50 dB(A), measured in accordance with IEC 61010, which allows for continuous operation in the same room as other laboratory work.

Continuous operation, timer and overheat protection

Runs can either be operated continuously or limited to a maximum of 120 minutes via a timer. A self-resetting overheating protection system monitors the motor during prolonged use and switches it off automatically if necessary, without the need for on-site intervention. Operation is permitted at temperatures between 5 and 31 degrees Celsius with up to 80 per cent relative humidity; at higher temperatures up to 40 degrees Celsius, the permissible humidity level decreases accordingly.

Electrical specifications and design

The Duomax 1030 is connected to 230 volts at 50 hertz or 115 volts at 60 hertz; its power consumption is 115 watts, fused with an M 1.25 A or T 2.0 A fuse. Measuring 320 x 185 x 375 millimetres (width x height x depth) and weighing around 8 kilograms, the unit fits into the same footprint as the other models in the 1000 series and can be installed at altitudes of up to 2,000 metres above sea level.

Addition to the incubation system

With a usable area of 290 x 258 millimetres, the Duomax 1030 can carry up to 5 kilograms. When combined with the Incubator 1000 heating module and an incubation hood, the rocking shaker becomes a temperature-controlled system without the need for a second, separate device for temperature control.

Typical applications

  • Washing steps and incubations on microtitre plates with a low amplitude of movement
  • Runs lasting several hours in continuous operation thanks to self-resetting overheating protection
  • Time-limited runs with a timer up to 120 minutes
  • Rocking incubation in combination with a heating module and an incubation hood

Which model from the 1000 series is right for you

If an application requires more power and a significantly higher speed, the Promax 1020 with an EC motor and up to 250 revolutions per minute is the more suitable choice. For the same rotational speed and tilt angle, but with a wobbling rather than rocking motion, the Polymax 1040 is available. For microtitre plates requiring a circular vibrating motion and a speed of up to 1,350 revolutions per minute, the Titramax 100 is the better option.

Regulatory information

The device is an electrical appliance within the meaning of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). The WEEE registration number of the manufacturer, Heidolph Scientific Products GmbH, is DE 50705753. Information on the return of end-of-life equipment can be found on our Environment and Disposal page.

Warranty and procurement service

Heidolph Scientific Products GmbH, Schwabach, provides a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. This excludes glass and wear parts, damage caused during transport, and damage resulting from improper use. If the instrument is registered with Heidolph, the warranty begins on the date of purchase; otherwise, it begins on the date of manufacture as indicated by the serial number. Your statutory warranty rights remain unaffected. For upgrades involving a heating module or an incubation hood, our procurement service will put together the appropriate combination.
