Heidolph Promax 1020 Platform Shaker, Reciprocating, 30 to 250 rpm, 543-22332-00

Anyone who needs to clean samples at 5 degrees Celsius in a cold room or separate samples using several separating funnels simultaneously requires a platform shaker with a powerful, linear motion. The Promax 1020 from the Heidolph 1000 series moves the working surface in a reciprocating motion, i.e. back and forth, and, powered by an EC motor, covers a speed range of 30 to 250 revolutions per minute, significantly more than the rocking and wobbling models in the same series.

Connection and dimensions

The Promax 1020 operates at a rated voltage of 100 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz and draws 50 watts. The unit is protected by an M 1.25 A fuse at 230 volts or a T 2.0 A fuse at 115 volts. Its dimensions are 320 x 125 x 375 millimetres (width x height x depth) and it weighs around 8 kilograms; it is approved for installation at altitudes of up to 2,000 metres above sea level.

Reciprocating motion with a wide speed range

The stroke (orbit) is 32 millimetres; the working area measures 290 x 258 millimetres and can carry a payload of up to 5 kilograms. A timer function allows for unattended operation and signals the end of the shaking process with an audible alarm. The sound pressure level is less than 50 dB(A), measured in accordance with IEC 61010.

Protein purification in the cold room and separation funnel

The permissible operating temperature range is from 5 to 31 degrees Celsius at up to 80 per cent relative humidity, and from 32 to 40 degrees Celsius with correspondingly lower humidity. This means the Promax 1020 can also be operated in a cold room at 5 degrees Celsius, for example for the purification of proteins. With the appropriate holder for separating funnels from the Heidolph range of accessories, up to four separating funnels with capacities between 50 and 100 millilitres can be securely fixed in place simultaneously.

Selection guide: reciprocating, rocking or tumbling

Within the 1000 series, the models differ primarily in terms of their motion type. If you require a linear, powerful motion at high speed, the Promax 1020 is the right choice. The Duomax 1030 is suitable for a gentler, tilting motion with a 5-degree angle of inclination, whilst the Polymax 1040 is ideal for a tumbling, three-dimensional motion. If you’re looking for a rotating motion, the Rotamax 120 is the model for you. All models share the 1000 series chassis and can be expanded into a temperature-controlled system using the same Incubator 1000 heating module.

This excludes glass and wear parts, damage caused during transport and damage resulting from improper use. If the equipment is registered with Heidolph, the warranty commences on the date of purchase; otherwise, it commences on the date of manufacture as indicated by the serial number.
