Without the right technology, pumping several samples simultaneously at the same flow rate often takes longer than the actual analysis. The Hei-FLOW Core 120 Multi is the multi-channel version of Heidolph’s standard range and, like the basic model, covers a speed range of 10 to 120 revolutions per minute. According to the LT price list 2026, the multi-channel adapter is already included in the scope of delivery for this model; however, this is not specifically stated on the manufacturer’s website.

Designed for parallel channel operation

With a multi-channel pump head, the flow rate ranges from 0.005 to 364 millilitres per minute per channel; with a single-channel pump head, the same drive can optionally be used for flow rates ranging from 0.85 to 861 millilitres per minute. For multi-channel operation, cassettes are available in small, medium and large sizes, as well as multi-channel pump heads with 4, 8 or 12 channels, each suited to the required flow rate. For the small cassette, there is also a dedicated 2-stopper tubing and an extension tube, both available in silicone, Viton, PharMed or Tygon standard, so that even very small volumes per channel can be precisely allocated.

Digital control, same drive as the Core 120

Technically, the Core 120 Multi corresponds to the basic model: an EC motor with a power consumption of 100 watts, digital speed control with a control accuracy of ± 0.5 per cent according to the data sheet and a delivery accuracy of ± 5 per cent, continuous operation around the clock and overheating protection. The housing, weight (7.6 kilograms) and dimensions (166 × 225 × 256 millimetres, excluding the pump head) are also identical.

Protection rating and connection

IP 54 protection rating in accordance with DIN EN 60529 keeps out dust and splashing water, whilst protection class 1 in accordance with EN 61140 ensures the housing is earthed. The sound pressure level is below 55 dB(A) in accordance with IEC 61010. The Core 120 Multi is connected to a supply of 110 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz.

Selection guide: Multi-channel or single-channel

Those who only occasionally require multiple channels and otherwise work with single-channel pump heads will find the Hei-FLOW Core 120 without a pre-installed adapter to be the more cost-effective option. For higher flow rates with a smaller number of channels, the Hei-FLOW Core 600, with 50 to 600 revolutions per minute, significantly outperforms the Core 120 series, although it is designed for single-channel pump heads. If the multi-channel drive is also to be controlled via an analogue interface or foot switch, the Hei-FLOW Expert 120 Multi offers the same range of channels with external control. The Hei-FLOW Ultimate 120 Multi provides the most comprehensive features, including a digital display and dosing functions.
