Pumping larger volumes in a shorter time requires a drive with greater speed reserve than the 120 series offers. The Hei-FLOW Core 600 covers a speed range of 50 to 600 revolutions per minute and, with a single-channel pump head, achieves a flow rate of up to 4,151 millilitres per minute. Like all Hei-FLOW drives, it is supplied without a pump head; this is selected separately to suit the fluid being pumped.

High flow rate for single-channel applications

The Core 600 is designed for use with single-channel pump heads, with flow rates ranging from 4.0 to 4,151 millilitres per minute. A switch reverses the flow direction, allowing the same unit to be used for both filling and emptying larger vessels. The Core 600 is not intended for multi-channel operation; the 120 series models are available for this purpose.

Same drive technology, higher speed

The EC motor draws 100 watts and delivers the same power; it is digitally controlled with a control accuracy of ± 0.5 per cent according to the data sheet and a flow accuracy of ± 5 per cent. The unit is designed for continuous operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and switches off automatically in the event of overheating. Weighing 7.1 kilograms, the Core 600 is slightly lighter than the 120 models in the range due to its more compact internal design; the dimensions of 166 by 225 by 256 millimetres (excluding the pump head) remain the same. This means the Core 600 can be swapped for a 120 model without requiring any additional space should a process suddenly demand higher throughput.

Protection rating, noise level and connections

Protection rating IP 54 in accordance with DIN EN 60529 and protection class 1 in accordance with EN 61140 comply with the standard for the entire Hei-FLOW range. The sound pressure level is below 55 dB(A) in accordance with IEC 61010, even at the higher speeds of the 600 series. The unit is powered by 110 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz.

Selection guide: Core 600 or one of the 120 series

Those who primarily handle smaller volumes or multiple channels in parallel are better served by the Hei-FLOW Core 120 or the Hei-FLOW Core 120 Multi; both cover 10 to 120 revolutions per minute. If the high flow rate of the 600 series is also to be controlled via an analogue interface or foot switch, the Hei-FLOW Expert 600 offers the same speed range with external connectivity. The Hei-FLOW Ultimate 600 is available for digital display, an RS232 interface and dosing functions at high throughput.

The pump head and tubing are not included in the Scope of delivery. For the Core 600, single-channel pump heads from the SP quick, SP standard and SP vario series are available, as well as tubing made from silicone, Tygon, PharMed or Viton in 1.6 or 2.5 millimetres.
