Heidolph Hei-FLOW Expert 120 Multi Peristaltic Pump, 5 to 120 rpm, Multi-channel, Foot Switch Connection, 523-51013-00

Anyone who needs to supply several hoses simultaneously, for example, when filling several reaction vessels in parallel, requires a drive that is inherently designed for multi-channel pump heads. The Hei-FLOW Expert 120 Multi comes with the multi-channel adapter fitted as standard and covers a speed range of 5 to 120 revolutions per minute. The analogue interface and the connection for a foot switch allow for external control, leaving both hands free for the tubing and vessel.

Multi-channel operation as standard

The integrated multi-channel adapter distinguishes the Multi variant from the standard Hei-FLOW Expert 120: With a single-channel pump head, the flow rate ranges from 0.5 to 936 millilitres per minute; with a multi-channel pump head, it ranges from 0.005 to 277 millilitres per minute. For multi-channel operation, cassettes in three sizes and multi-channel pump heads with 4, 8 or 12 channels are available as accessories. The speed control accuracy is ± 0.5 per cent, and the flow rate accuracy is ± 3.5 per cent.

External control and hands-free operation

The analogue interface (0 to 10 V or 4 to 20 mA) allows the speed, direction of rotation, and start/stop functions to be controlled externally, for example from a higher-level process control system. An optional foot switch complements the unit for applications where both hands must remain on the container. The direction of rotation can be reversed at any time at the touch of a button, whilst pressing the button for maximum speed accelerates the filling and emptying of the hose.

Designed for continuous operation

The EC motor is designed for continuous operation round the clock, seven days a week, and is protected against overheating by an electronic current limiter. Protection rating IP 54 in accordance with DIN EN 60529 and protection class 1 in accordance with EN 61140 make the drive suitable for daily laboratory use; the sound pressure level remains below 55 dB(A) in accordance with IEC 61010.

Selection guide within the Hei-FLOW range

For those who do not require multi-channel operation, the single-channel Hei-FLOW Expert 120 offers the same electronics without an integrated adapter. If simple speed control without an analogue interface is sufficient, the Hei-FLOW Core 120 Multi is the more cost-effective alternative with the same multi-channel adapter. Those who also require a digital display, an RS232 interface and volume or interval dosing will find these features in the Hei-FLOW Ultimate 120 Multi. For significantly higher flow rates in single-channel operation, the Hei-FLOW Expert 600 is available with a speed range of 24 to 600 revolutions per minute.
