Reactor systems with alternating operating modes, such as between feed-batch and chemostat processes, benefit from a drive that can both dose precisely and deliver fluid rapidly. The Hei-FLOW Ultimate 600 covers a speed range of 24 to 600 revolutions per minute and, with single-channel pump heads, achieves a flow rate of up to 4,056 millilitres per minute, along with programmable volumetric and interval dosing. As the top-of-the-range model in the 600 series, it combines the high flow rate of the Expert range with the digital control system of the Ultimate models.

High flow rate with digital control

The Ultimate 600 covers a wide flow range of between 2.0 and 4,056 millilitres per minute. The digital display allows volume dosing between 0.001 and 9,999 millilitres, as well as interval dosing with pause times ranging from 0.1 seconds to 750 hours; the dosing accuracy is ± 2 per cent. A soft start and electronic brake protect the tubing and fluid during start-up and shutdown.

RS232 for automated processes

In addition to the analogue interface (0 to 10 V or 4 to 20 mA), a digital RS-232 interface is available, via which speed, direction of rotation, and start/stop commands can be set from a higher-level control system. An optional foot switch complements the operation in situations where the operator’s hands must remain on the vessel or hose. The combination of digital display and remote control allows the same process parameters to be recalled repeatedly as required, rather than having to reset them after every change.

Designed for single-channel high-throughput

Multi-channel operation is not provided for with this model; however, when fitted with single-channel pump heads such as the SP quick, SP standard or SP vario, the Ultimate 600 delivers a significantly higher flow rate than the 120 models in the series. This makes it an ideal complement to reactor systems where both rapid filling and emptying and controlled flow rates are required.

Selection guide within the Hei-FLOW range

If an analogue interface without a digital display and dosing functions is sufficient, the Hei-FLOW Expert 600 is the simpler alternative within the same speed range. Those who only require speed control without external interfaces will find this in the Hei-FLOW Core 600. For multi-channel operation with digital dosing in the lower speed range, the Hei-FLOW Ultimate 120 Multi is available; for single-channel operation in the same speed range without the multi-channel option, the Hei-FLOW Ultimate 120 is available.
