Reactors and larger vessels often require a higher flow rate than a 120-series drive can provide. The Hei-FLOW Expert 600 covers a speed range from 24 to 600 revolutions per minute and, with single-channel pump heads, achieves a flow rate of up to 4,056 millilitres per minute. Like the entire Expert range, it features an analogue interface and a connection for a foot switch; this model is not designed for multi-channel operation. Compared with the 120-series variants, the focus here is clearly on flow rate rather than precise dosing.

High flow rate for larger volumes

With a flow rate ranging from 2.0 to 4,056 millilitres per minute, the Expert 600 covers a range sufficient for the rapid filling and emptying of larger vessels or for continuous processes with high throughput. Pressing the button for maximum speed further accelerates filling and emptying operations, whilst the direction of rotation is reversed at the touch of a button. The speed control accuracy is ± 0.5 per cent, and the flow rate accuracy is ± 3.5 per cent. The speed range of 24 to 600 revolutions per minute is thus significantly higher than that of the 120 models in the Hei-FLOW range, making the drive suitable for applications requiring higher flow rates per unit of time.

Analogue connection to higher-level systems

The interface (0 to 10 V or 4 to 20 mA) transmits speed, direction of rotation and start/stop signals to an external control system. An optional foot switch allows dosing by foot pressure, whilst both hands remain on the tubing or vessel. Suitable single-channel pump heads (SP quick, SP standard, SP vario) and tubing materials ranging from silicone to Tygon are available as accessories.

Robust for continuous operation

The EC motor runs continuously round the clock, seven days a week, and is protected against overheating by an electronic current limiter. Protection rating IP 54 in accordance with DIN EN 60529 and protection class 1 in accordance with EN 61140 allow for use in day-to-day laboratory operations; the sound pressure level remains below 55 dB(A) in accordance with IEC 61010. The rated voltage of 110 to 240 V at 50 or 60 Hz means the drive can be used regardless of the local mains supply.

Selection guide within the Hei-FLOW range

If simple speed control without an analogue interface or foot switch connection is sufficient, the Hei-FLOW Core 600 is the more cost-effective alternative within the same speed range. Those who also require a digital display, an RS232 interface, volume and interval dosing, as well as soft start, will find these features in the Hei-FLOW Ultimate 600. For multi-channel operation in the lower speed range, the Hei-FLOW Expert 120 Multi and the single-channel Hei-FLOW Expert 120 are available.
