For those who wish to monitor the temperature of the sample themselves, rather than simply setting the hotplate temperature, the Hei-PLATE Mix'n'Heat Core+ is the digital version of the Hei-PLATE range. An LCD display shows the speed and temperature, whilst an optional external Pt1000 temperature probe measures the temperature directly within the sample and uses this to regulate the heating plate. As with the Core model, the Kera-Disk platform has a diameter of 145 millimetres; it heats up to 300 degrees Celsius at a speed of up to 1,400 revolutions per minute.

Dynamic control knobs with locking function

Two rotary controls adjust the speed and temperature and respond dynamically to the rotational speed: slow rotation for fine adjustment, fast rotation for larger increments. A lock function prevents accidental adjustment during operation, whilst button and dial illumination indicates which functions are active at all times. For test series that run unattended for extended periods, this safeguard against accidental adjustment is a practical advantage over the analogue-controlled Core model.

Precise temperature control with Pt1000

When an external Pt1000 probe is connected, the unit controls the sample temperature to an accuracy of ± 0.2 Kelvin, plus the probe tolerance, with a resolution of 1 Kelvin. There are two heating modes to choose from: FAST for rapid attainment of the setpoint temperature and PRECISE for control without overshoot. Without a connected probe, the LCD display shows the temperature of the heating plate; the display range then extends from 15 to 325 degrees Celsius.

Design and load capacity

The external dimensions of 168 x 101 x 299 millimetres and a weight of around 3 kilograms are the same as the Core model, as is the maximum load of 25 kilograms on the base. The IP42 protection rating and a sound pressure level below 50 dB(A) remain unchanged. The patented Kera-Disk coating made of anodised aluminium remains chemical-resistant and scratch-resistant, regardless of whether an external sensor is used or not.
