One hundred litres of water and a peak torque of 200 Ncm elevate the EUROSTAR 100 digital into a performance class intended for larger-scale applications in pilot plants or process development. The housing shares the platform with the smaller EUROSTAR 20 digital; the same compact design here houses a significantly more powerful brushless motor. The LCD display shows speed, the timer and a torque trend; the device can be connected to labworldsoft via USB-C and RS232.
Torque: peak value and continuous operation
According to the manufacturer, the maximum torque of the EUROSTAR 100 digital is 200 Ncm; this value applies to short-term acceleration at 30 to 600 rpm for up to 20 minutes. In continuous operation between 600 and 1,300 rpm, the usable torque ranges from 120 to 100 Ncm; at speeds between 1,300 and 2,000 rpm, it drops further to 100 to 60 Ncm. Anyone stirring highly viscous media up to 70,000 mPas on a continuous basis should therefore base their calculations on the lower continuous value; the peak value is available for brief load peaks during start-up. The brushless DC motor draws 186 watts and delivers up to 136 watts to the stirring shaft.
Operation and interfaces
The speed ranges from 30 to 2,000 revolutions per minute and can be adjusted continuously with an accuracy of ±1 rpm. The Quick Sense Keyless Chuck handles tool changes without a chuck key; stirring shafts from 0.5 to 10 mm fit into the chuck. The hollow shaft, with an internal diameter of 11 mm, can be inserted whilst the machine is stationary. With a noise level of 52 dB(A) without a mixing tool, the unit achieves ISO cleanroom class 7 at 900 rpm and class 8 at 1,800 rpm. The housing, made of coated cast aluminium and thermoplastic, is protected against dust and splashing water to IP 54; a lock button and automatic shut-off in the event of a blockage or when the torque limit is reached round off the safety features.

The IKA R 1330 anchor stirrer (MPN 0002022300) is a stirring element made of stainless steel 1.4571 for overhead stirrers. It has a stirrer diameter of 45 mm and a shaft with a diameter of 8 mm and a length of 350 mm.
