With a mixing capacity of 150 l and a torque of 400 Ncm, the EUROSTAR 400 digital is the most powerful digital model in the classic EUROSTAR series, designed for pilot plants and large batches involving viscous to highly viscous media. The larger chuck, wider housing and more powerful motor clearly distinguish this unit from the smaller EUROSTAR 200 models, whilst the operating logic, featuring two speed ranges and a 7-segment LED display, remains the same. Anyone who regularly runs batches of over 100 l or works with viscous, high-viscosity formulations will find this to be the most powerful version available without additional wireless functions.
Power for large batches
In low-speed range I, the mixer delivers up to 400 Ncm of torque at speeds between 6 and 400 rpm; in the faster range II, the speed reaches up to 2,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 80 Ncm. According to the manufacturer, viscosities of up to 100,000 mPas are possible; the brushless DC motor draws 220 watts and delivers up to 176 watts to the stirring shaft. The chuck accommodates stirring shafts with diameters ranging from 3 to 16 mm, significantly more than the smaller models in the series, to suit the larger stirring tools used with batch sizes of 150 l. The speed can be adjusted continuously with an accuracy of ±1 rpm; the digital LED display shows the current value directly on the unit.
Design and connection
Measuring 114 x 325 x 245 mm and weighing 8.4 kg, the unit is noticeably larger and heavier than the 200 series models; a correspondingly sturdy stand with a 16 mm arm diameter is therefore essential. The hollow shaft, with an internal diameter of 10.3 mm, can be inserted whilst the unit is stationary; the housing, made of coated cast aluminium and thermoplastic, is protected against foreign bodies larger than 1 mm and dripping water when tilted up to 15° in accordance with IP 42. An electronic safety circuit cuts off the power in the event of a fault or overload; additional voltage variants of 115 V and 100 V are available for locations outside the 230 V mains supply. The 16 mm extension arm is shorter than that of the 200 series models; however, whilst having the same diameter, it supports the greater weight of the larger stirring shafts and tools more stably on the stand.
