Product information "IKA EUROSTAR 60 control overhead stirrer with TFT display, up to 60 litres, 0020105158"
Compact performance class for demanding mixing tasks
The IKA EUROSTAR 60 control overhead stirrer (MPN 0020105158) represents the modernised, highly advanced mechatronic generation of professional laboratory stirrers. With a footprint reduced by up to 23 per cent compared to its predecessors, this powerhouse fits perfectly into any laboratory infrastructure. Designed for universal and highly demanding mixing tasks in a B2B environment, the system effortlessly handles sample volumes of up to 60 litres (based on water) as well as viscous media with a viscosity of up to 50,000 mPas. It offers the ideal process engineering solution for complex syntheses, viscous mixtures and fully documented processes in chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological research.
High-precision real-time viscosity measurement via a torque sensor
An outstanding metrological feature of the control series is the integrated torque sensor. With exceptional accuracy of +/- 1 Ncm, it enables continuous, transient torque monitoring throughout the entire mixing process. From these values, the internal microprocessor control calculates the exact viscosity of the medium and displays it in mPas directly on the large TFT graphic display. Coupled with a microprocessor-controlled, automatic speed regulation system operating in the range of 30 to 2000 revolutions per minute, the brushless DC motor dynamically adapts to changes in load. The stirring speed therefore remains completely constant even during abrupt load changes or transient viscosity fluctuations, guaranteeing maximum reproducibility.
Advanced process functions and multi-level safety architecture
From a process engineering perspective, the EUROSTAR 60 control offers tools that go far beyond conventional stirring. The system features an integrated temperature measurement function (via a PT1000 interface), a rotation direction that can be reversed at the touch of a button (counter-clockwise/clockwise rotation) for the targeted disruption of flow profiles, and a programmable interval mode. An integrated vibration sensor continuously monitors the test setup for imbalances or critical vibrations and initiates an automatic safety shutdown in the event of danger. Mechanical blockages or thermal overloads are countered by self-contained safety circuits, whilst an integrated lock button reliably protects the control panel against unintentional parameter changes.
Industry 4.0 readiness and robust housing design
The system’s infrastructure architecture enables seamless integration into digitised laboratory workstations. Equipped as standard with USB-C, RS232, Ethernet, wireless (WPAN) and Wi-Fi interfaces, the overhead stirrer can be seamlessly connected to a PC and fully controlled and comprehensively documented via the labworldsoft laboratory software ®. The mechanically robust housing consists of a combination of coated die-cast aluminium and sturdy thermoplastic, which meets the demanding IP 54 protection rating (splash- and steam-proof). The brushless DC motor operates virtually wear-free, whisper-quiet (52 dBA without tools) and absolutely clean, meaning the system is fully qualified for a 100% duty cycle in continuous operation.
