On the S 25 EC - T - C - 25 G (0020108999), an integrated sensor measures the temperature in the flask whilst dispersion is taking place. The autoclavable tool with a 25 mm stator is designed for batches of 50 to 2,000 ml and is used with the T 25 easy clean digital and control drives.
In-process temperature measurement
The sensor covers a range of 0 to 125 °C and measures with an accuracy of ±1 K. However, the sensor function can only be activated on the T 25 easy clean control. On the T 25 easy clean digital, the tool operates without a temperature display. The drive also records the tool’s operating time; a message on the display indicates when maintenance is due.
Recommended for biochemistry and pharmaceuticals
IKA describes the tool as being suitable for applications involving mixing at high speed and with high shear force, grinding in liquid, emulsification and reducing particle size in solution. Particular mention is made of the emulsification of heat-sensitive active ingredient intermediates. The sensor allows the temperature to be monitored whilst the unit is running.
Easy cleaning and figures
By turning and lowering the clamp, the shaft and rotor can be removed from the housing, allowing the shaft tube to be flushed from the inside as well. The rotor has a diameter of 17 mm, the gap width is 0.5 mm, and the peripheral speed is up to 22.2 m/s. The final particle size is between 15 and 50 µm for suspensions and between 1 and 10 µm for emulsions. The operating temperature is limited to 120 °C.
Variants without a sensor or with an 18 mm stator
The S 25 EC - T - C - 18 G is available with an 18 mm stator and a temperature sensor; the ST version of this is the S 25 EC - T - C - 18 G ST. The S 25 EC - C - 25 F operates without a sensor, with a 25 mm stator and a finer final particle size (emulsions from 1 to 5 µm).
