The S 65 KG - HH - G 65 M (0010010767) can process up to 40 l in a single batch; the minimum capacity is 2 l. The stator and rotor measure 65 and 58 mm respectively. The shaft is mounted on ball bearings, and the mechanical seal consists of carbide against carbide. IKA specifies the T 65 digital as the drive unit.
Position within the S 65 series
The S 65 KG - HH - G 65 F has the same rotor, but processes only 2 to 30 l and achieves 5 to 20 µm (suspensions) and 1 to 10 µm (emulsions). The S 65 KG - HH - G 65 G has a smaller rotor (53 mm), processes 2 to 50 l and specifies 25 to 75 µm for suspensions. The unit described here falls between these, with particle sizes of 20 to 50 µm and 5 to 15 µm.
Vacuum and pressure
The unit operates under vacuum down to 1 mbar and at pressures up to 6 bar. Materials in contact with the product include FFPM, tungsten carbide (WC) and AISI 316L. It is suitable for solvents; the pH range is from 2 to 13. The maximum operating temperature is 170 °C. Sterilisation is permitted using all methods; FDA compliance is specified.
Dimensions and speed
The gap between the rotor and stator is 0.5 mm wide. A speed of 9,500 rpm is permitted, with the rotor circumference reaching up to 28.8 m/s. The immersion depth is 80 to 450 mm, and the installation length is 510 mm. The tool measures 65 x 550 x 65 mm and weighs 4.41 kg.
Without vacuum
If a vacuum is not required, the S 65 C, G 65 M is available with the same 2 to 40 l capacity and 58 mm rotor. The parts in contact with the product are made of AISI 316L and ceramic, and it is not suitable for vacuum applications.

The T 65 digital ULTRA-TURRAX is designed for the transition from the laboratory to the pilot plant, for batches of 2 to 50 litres (H₂O) with a power consumption of 2,600 watts. Unlike the smaller units in the T series, it does not run on a single-phase laboratory power supply, but requires a three-phase connection of 3 x 400 volts, which must be installed by a qualified electrician. Anyone planning this connection should take this into account at the installation stage.For the transition from laboratory to pilot plantThree different rotor-stator geometries cover a range of applications from fine dispersion to coarse pre-comminution; a plug-in coupling allows tool changes to be made on the drive without the need for additional tools. Depending on the configuration, the stainless steel dispersing tools can also be used under vacuum and overpressure, provided the relevant accessories are designed for this purpose.
