Product information "IKA T 10 battery-powered Tissue Safe Solution disperser set, disposable tools, up to 30,000 rpm, 0010015690"
When working with tissue samples, it is important not only to ensure homogenisation but also to prevent any material from being transferred between two samples. The T 10 battery Tissue Safe Solution comes with an autoclavable, single-use dispersing tool made of plastic and stainless steel, which is disposed of after use rather than being cleaned and reused.
Set of 24 disposable tools
The scope of delivery includes a pack of 24 S 10 D - 7G - KS - 65 tools, each with a diameter of 7 millimetres. Each tool is individually packaged, used once and then disposed of. For a series involving different tissue samples, there is no need for cleaning between individual runs, which correspondingly reduces the risk of material carry-over between samples.
Battery-powered instead of mains-powered
The tool is powered by the T 10 battery ULTRA-TURRAX, which features a permanently installed battery comprising three LiPo cells, rated at 10.8 volts and with an energy capacity of 34.56 watt-hours. Charging is carried out via a USB-C cable or a separate charging clamp; the device does not require a mains socket whilst in use. The speed is continuously adjustable from 8,000 to 30,000 revolutions per minute; an LCD display shows the speed and timer numerically.
Autoclavable for sterile applications
As the dispersing tool is autoclavable, it can be sterilised before use if a process so requires. After use, it is disposed of rather than cleaned, which saves time compared with manually cleaning a reusable tool between two tissue samples.
Integration with labworldsoft
According to the manufacturer, just like the drive unit on its own, the Tissue Safe Solution can also be integrated into the labworldsoft software for remote control, data export and documentation of process parameters. Operating instructions for the T 10 battery are available in 13 languages, and there is a separate set of instructions for the single-use dispersing tool.
Also available as a larger disposable version
In addition to the S 10 D - 7G - KS - 65 tool included in the set, with a diameter of 7 millimetres, LT Laborhandel also stocks the S 10 D - 7G - KS - 110 version with a larger working diameter as a standalone item, also available in packs of 24. Those who regularly process tissue samples of varying sizes can therefore keep both tool sizes in stock.
Typical applications
- Homogenisation of tissue samples in pathological or pharmaceutical sample preparation
- Batch processing of multiple samples without the need for intermediate cleaning of the tool
- Sterile homogenisation thanks to the autoclavable, single-use tool
Selection guide: Tissue Safe, Portable or Complete?
If you need to rule out cross-contamination between tissue samples, the Tissue Safe Solution and its disposable tools are the right choice. If a reusable stainless steel tool is sufficient, the T 10 battery Portable Solution is the more cost-effective option. Those who also require a stand for stationary use will find it in the T 10 battery Complete Solution. The drive unit alone, without the tool, is available as the T 10 battery ULTRA-TURRAX.
