Memmert constant climate chamber HPP1400eco, 1,360 l, 0 to +70 °C, with humidity +15 to +60 °C, 10 to 80 % rh

The Memmert constant climate chamber HPP1400eco holds 1,360 litres and is the second-largest model of the HPPeco series. Without humidity it sets 0 to +70 °C, and in humidity operation +15 to +60 °C at 10 to 80 % rh apply. Both ranges belong to the unit and are selected depending on the application. The Peltier heating/cooling system sits in the rear wall, and there is no compressor and no refrigerant.

Two operating ranges: with and without humidity

Without humidity, the setting temperature range extends from 0 to +70 °C, and the working temperature range begins at 0 °C (min. 20 °C below room temperature). With humidity, +15 to +60 °C can be set, and the lower limit of the working range here is +15 °C (min. 10 °C below room temperature). Humidity can be set from 10 to 80 % rh, with a setting accuracy of 0.5 % rh. The temperature can be set to an accuracy of 0.1 °C. Water and humidity generation

A hot steam generator humidifies, and a cold trap in Peltier technology dehumidifies. The self-priming pump delivers distilled water from an external container, and the supplied water canister has a connection hose. Alternatively, a central water supply can be connected to the domestic water, with filter cartridges (ZWVR6) or without (ZWVR7). The variant without filter cartridges requires demineralised, fully deionised water with a conductivity of 5 to 10 μS/cm and a pH value between 5 and 7. The factory calibration certificate states the measuring points +25 °C / 60 % rh and +40 °C / 75 % rh.

Full-view glass doors and shelves

The chamber has stainless steel doors with glass cut-out and fully heated inner glass panes, fitted into full-view glass doors with 2-point locking (compression door lock). The interior measures 1,250 x 1,450 x 750 mm (W x H x D), less 32 mm depth for the fan (Peltier). Four stainless steel grid shelves are inserted, up to 28 shelves are possible, with a maximum of 30 kg per shelf and 250 kg in total in the unit. With external dimensions of 1,435 x 1,913 x 905 mm (depth plus 56 mm door handle and 111 mm Peltier element) and a net weight of approx. 347 kg, it stands mobile and lockable on castors, and it can also be levelled. The ambient temperature may be +16 to +40 °C at a maximum of 70 % rel. humidity, non-condensing. Installation altitude up to 2,000 m above sea level, minimum distance 15 cm to the rear wall, 20 cm to the ceiling and 5 cm at the sides.

Control and safety

The ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY works with two TFT colour graphic displays and two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A, which monitor each other and take over the function of the other in the event of a fault. HeatBALANCE adjusts the heating power between the upper and lower heating group by -50 to +50 %, and SetpointWAIT starts the process time only when the setpoint temperature has been reached. The countdown clock covers 1 minute to 99 days, and three values each can be freely calibrated for temperature and humidity. Programs can be created and transferred via Ethernet LAN or USB with the AtmoCONTROL software, and the program sequence remains saved in the event of a power failure. Protection is provided by an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.3 and AutoSAFETY with a freely selectable interval to the setpoint. When exceeded, AutoSAFETY switches the heating function off, and when fallen below the cooling function, and there are also a self-diagnosis system and visual and acoustic alarm.

Selection guide: HPP1400eco compared

The HPP1060eco with 1,060 l sets +5 to +70 °C with humidity and reaches 90 % rh, and it takes up to 14 shelves with 60 kg each. If humidity operation falls below +15 °C or goes above 80 % rh, it is the better choice. The HPP1400eco has more interior and shelf positions, but less load per shelf. Even more volume is offered by the HPP2200eco with 2,140 l, at the same humidity and temperature ranges, up to 42 shelves and a connected load of approx. 2,000 W instead of approx. 1,400 W.

Available as factory options for the HPP1400eco are, among others, lateral feedthroughs with 23 mm inner diameter, a silicone feedthrough with 40 mm, a 4-20 mA current interface, security locks with key (one lock per door), a potential-free contact for fault messages, a process-dependent programmable door lock and a door-open detection (one each per door) as well as MobileALERT by SMS. Accessories are additional stainless steel grid shelves, a USB-Ethernet adapter, an Ethernet cable, the USB user ID stick, the FDA basic licence for AtmoCONTROL FDA and an external measuring device for temperature and humidity. In addition, calibrations at the factory or DAkkS (accredited), IQ/OQ documents, on-site qualifications and maintenance contracts can be requested.
