Memmert constant climate chamber HPP2200eco, 2,140 l, 0 to +70 °C, with humidity +15 to +60 °C, 10 to 80 % rh

With 2,140 litres of interior and external dimensions of 2,157 x 1,913 x 905 mm (W x H x D), the Memmert constant climate chamber HPP2200eco is the largest of the HPPeco series. It stands in the room as a mobile, levellable floor-standing unit. Without humidity it sets 0 to +70 °C, and in humidity operation +15 to +60 °C at 10 to 80 % rh. Temperature control is via a Peltier heating/cooling system in the rear wall, without compressor and without refrigerant.

Large chamber, plenty of shelf space

The interior measures 1,972 x 1,450 x 750 mm (W x H x D), less 32 mm depth for the fan (Peltier). Six electropolished stainless steel grid shelves are inserted, and up to 42 shelves are possible. 30 kg per shelf and 330 kg in the whole unit are permitted. The doors are stainless steel doors with glass cut-out and fully heated inner glass panes, fitted into full-view glass doors with 2-point locking (compression door lock). The unit weighs about 474 kg net and stands mobile and lockable on castors. For transport the shipping dimensions matter: with wooden crate the delivery measures 2,300 x 2,200 x 1,190 mm at approx. 718 kg, and the unit must be transported upright.

Installation and connection

The HPP2200eco is connected with 230 V, 50/60 Hz and draws approx. 2,000 W. The ambient temperature may be +16 to +40 °C, at a maximum of 70 % rel. humidity, non-condensing, and the installation altitude is up to 2,000 m above sea level. At least 15 cm are to be kept to the rear wall, 20 cm to the ceiling and 5 cm at the sides to a wall or neighbouring unit. To the unit depth are added 56 mm for the door handle and 111 mm for the Peltier element.

Ranges with and without humidity

Without humidity, 0 to +70 °C can be set, and the working range begins at 0 °C (min. 20 °C below room temperature). With humidity, +15 to +60 °C apply, and the lower limit of the working range here is +15 °C (min. 10 °C below room temperature). Humidity is settable from 10 to 80 % rh, the setting accuracy is 0.5 % rh, and for temperature it is 0.1 °C. A hot steam generator humidifies, and a cold trap in Peltier technology dehumidifies. The water, distilled, comes from an external container and is delivered by a self-priming pump, and water canister and connection hose are included. As an alternative, a central water supply connected to the domestic water is available, with filter cartridges (ZWVR6) or without (ZWVR7). For ZWVR7, demineralised, fully deionised water with 5 to 10 μS/cm conductivity and a pH value between 5 and 7 applies.

Control, programs and protective functions

Two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A monitor each other in the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY and take over the function of the other in the event of a fault. In addition there are HeatBALANCE for adjusting the heating power distribution from -50 to +50 %, SetpointWAIT and a countdown clock from 1 minute to 99 days. Programs are created with the AtmoCONTROL software and transferred via Ethernet LAN or USB. An adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.3 and AutoSAFETY are built in as protection, as well as a self-diagnosis system and visual and acoustic alarm. The program sequence remains saved in the event of a power failure. Three values each can be freely calibrated for temperature and humidity.

Selection guide: when the HPP2200eco, when the HPP1400eco

The HPP1400eco (1,360 l) has the same temperature and humidity ranges, up to 28 shelves, 250 kg total load and draws approx. 1,400 W. The HPP2200eco fits if more shelf positions or more load are needed. If the chamber is to run with humidity up to 90 % rh or from +5 °C, neither of the two largest chambers fits, and then the HPP1060eco with 1,060 l comes into question, the largest chamber of the series with these ranges.

Available as factory options for the HPP2200eco are, among others, lateral feedthroughs with 23 mm inner diameter, a silicone feedthrough with 40 mm, a 4-20 mA current interface, three security locks with key (one lock per door), a potential-free contact for fault messages, three process-dependent programmable door locks and three door-open detections (one each per door) as well as MobileALERT by SMS. Accessories include stainless steel grid shelves, a USB-Ethernet adapter, an Ethernet cable, the USB user ID stick, the FDA basic licence for AtmoCONTROL FDA and an external measuring device for temperature and humidity.
