The Memmert UN30pa paraffin oven holds 32 litres and, at 585 x 704 x 434 mm, has the most compact external dimensions of the five sizes in the paraffin oven series. The nearly gas-tight interior heats paraffin and other embedding media in the range from +20 to +80 °C, controlled via two redundant Pt100 sensors on the TwinDISPLAY. One stainless steel grid shelf is part of the scope of delivery, and up to three shelves are possible in total.
Interior and equipment
The interior measures 400 x 320 x 250 mm and is stiffened by deep-drawn ribbing, and the 4-sided all-round heating is protected and integrated behind it. The fully insulated stainless steel door closes via 2-point locking as a compression door seal, and the housing has a fully galvanised sheet steel rear wall. A total load of up to 60 kg is permitted with a maximum of 20 kg per shelf.
Control and temperature monitoring
Two DIN class A Pt100 sensors in 4-wire measurement monitor each other and take over the function of the other in the event of a fault, and display and control are via the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY with two TFT colour graphic displays. The setting accuracy is 0.1 °C, and the SetpointWAIT function starts the process time only when the setpoint temperature has actually been reached. A mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 according to DIN 12880 switches off the heating at about 20 °C above the maximum oven temperature, and an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can optionally be switched on in addition. AutoSAFETY runs in parallel with its own alarm when the setpoint is exceeded or fallen short of, and a self-diagnosis system supports fault finding.
Guide to choosing within the paraffin oven series
If three shelves are not enough for the sample quantity, the UN55pa with 53 litres and up to four shelves has more capacity and additionally the HeatBALANCE function, see the size table below. The UN30pa remains the right choice when little floor space is available and individual samples or small series are embedded.
Difference from the UN30 universal oven
With the same internal volume of 32 litres, the universal oven UN30 goes up to +300 °C and is controlled via a SingleDISPLAY. The UN30pa stays at a maximum of +80 °C, but with two Pt100 sensors on the TwinDISPLAY and a nearly gas-tight interior for paraffin and other embedding media.
