Memmert Pass-Through Oven UF160TS, 161 l, +20 to +250 °C, TwinDISPLAY

The Memmert Pass-Through Oven UF160TS is the most compact model of the TS series and is suitable for airlocks between the grey area and the clean room where floor space is limited. With 161 litres of internal volume and two fully insulated stainless steel doors on opposite sides, load material can be passed directly between the room areas. The setting temperature range extends from +20 to +250 °C, controlled via TwinDISPLAY with two redundant Pt100 sensors.

Design: two doors for one airlock

The pass-through function is provided by two fully insulated stainless steel doors, one on the clean side and one on the unclean side. A door interlock for alternating opening can be ordered from the factory, and it serves as contamination protection for wall installation. The interior measures 560 x 720 x 400 mm and the housing externally 745 x 1,233 x 582 mm plus the door handles. 2 electropolished stainless steel grid shelves are included as standard, up to 8 shelves are possible, with up to 20 kg per shelf and up to 210 kg total permissible load. The net weight is around 120 kg, and packed in the carton (830 x 1,300 x 800 mm) around 146 kg.

Control: TwinDISPLAY with HeatBALANCE and SetpointWAIT

The ControlCOCKPIT controller with TwinDISPLAY is an adaptive PID microprocessor controller with two high-resolution TFT colour graphic displays. The HeatBALANCE function adjusts the heating power distribution between the upper and lower heating group in the range from -50 to +50 per cent, and SetpointWAIT starts the process time only when the setpoint has actually been reached. An electronically controllable air turbine distributes the heat quietly in the interior in 10 per cent steps, and an adjustable exhaust air flap admixes preheated fresh air. Programmes can be created, managed and transferred via Ethernet or USB using the AtmoCONTROL software, and the programme sequence remains stored in the event of a power failure. The setting accuracy is 0.1 °C up to a setpoint temperature of 99.9 °C and 0.5 °C from 100 °C, and the display resolution is 0.1 °C.

Safety under DIN 12880

Two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A in 4-wire measurement monitor each other, and if one fails, the second automatically takes over its function. A mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 under DIN 12880 switches off the heating about 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature, and a digitally adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 can also be used. AutoSAFETY monitors over- and under-temperature and triggers an alarm on deviation, and a self-diagnosis system helps with fault finding. Optical and acoustic alarms report faults immediately.

Choosing: when the UF160TS is sufficient

With 161 litres and up to 8 shelves with up to 20 kg each, the UF160TS is suitable for small to medium batches. If the batches regularly become larger, the next larger Memmert Pass-Through Oven UF260TS with 256 litres and up to 9 shelves is the more suitable choice. If no airlock function is needed and a door accessible from one side is sufficient, the likewise 161 litre Memmert Universal Oven UF160plus with TwinDISPLAY is also an option.

Typical applications

The UF160TS is designed for the direct transport of load material and samples between the grey area and the clean room, and the double door takes on the pass-through and airlock function.
