Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 510 Ultrasonic Bath, 9.7 L, 35 kHz, 3245

The Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 510 has four vibration systems and a tank measuring 300 x 240 x 150 mm internally and with a capacity of 9.7 l. The unit is unheated, is operated via buttons and is drained via a ball valve.

Tank and vibration systems

The working capacity is 6.6 l; the level indicator shows the fill level. The tank is 1.0 mm thick and, like the housing, is made of 1.4301 stainless steel. At 35 kHz, the four vibration systems deliver a peak power of 640 watts; the rated power is 160 watts. The two vibration systems of the DT 255 achieve the same peak power with a narrower tank.

SweepTec, Pulse and DEGAS

The SweepTec function automatically prevents standing waves in the ultrasonic field. In addition, there is a pulse function and the DEGAS degassing function, which is activated at the start of the cleaning process. Twelve hours after the last button press, the unit switches off automatically.

Operation and Procedure

Control is via wipeable buttons; the display shows the remaining running time. The timer offers settings of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes (± 5 per cent) as well as continuous operation. The G 1/2 ball valve is located on the left-hand side; the hose connector and hose for connecting to the drain are included with the unit. If you require an adjustable heating function ranging from 20 to 80 °C, this is available in the DT 510 H model, which features the same tank.

Dimensions, weight and connections

With external dimensions of 325 x 265 x 300 mm and a weight of 7.3 kg, the bath can still be easily moved using the side handles. The 2 m long mains cable is permanently connected; the current consumption is 0.7 A at 230 V. Protection class IP 33, ambient temperature 5 to 40 °C.

Brackets, baskets and inserts

Bandelin offers the following accessories for the DT 510: the K 10 hanging basket (250 x 195 x 50 mm, mesh size 5 x 5 mm, up to 10 kg), the GH 10 appliance holder (260 x 200 mm, up to 10 kg), the D 510 lid and the DE 510 perforated lid for four insert cups. The ED 9 injection nozzle holder, made of stainless steel, has holes with diameters of 9.5, 5.5, 4.5 and 3.5 mm. ZF 10 laboratory flask holders secure flasks in the hanging basket; the KW 10-0 hanging tray (242 x 182 x 135 mm) is made of polypropylene.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the drain? On the left-hand side, as a G 1/2 ball valve.

Does the DT 510 have a heating function? No. The heated version is the DT 510 H.

How many sample cups fit under the perforated lid? The DE 510 perforated lid is designed to hold four sample cups.

Are there other plug types available? Bandelin supplies GB, CH and US variants under their own order numbers, such as 3245-GB. The 3245 model is available with a CEE 7/7 EU plug for 230 V.
