The S 50 KD - G45F (0010000631) is designed for batch sizes ranging from 0.25 to 10 l. The stator measures 45 mm, the rotor 40 mm; at 10,000 rpm, speeds of up to 20.9 m/s are achieved at the rotor circumference. IKA specifies the T 50 digital as the drive.
Ball bearing with PTFE seal
The shaft runs in a ball bearing with a PTFE seal and an FFKM O-ring. Materials in contact with the product are FFPM, PTFE and AISI 316L. The pH range is 2 to 13; solvents are permitted. Under vacuum, the tool may be used down to 100 mbar; the maximum operating temperature is 150 °C. IKA states that it is autoclavable.
Gap, fineness and dimensions
The gap between the rotor and stator is 0.5 mm wide. The final fineness ranges from 10 to 30 µm for suspensions and from 1 to 10 µm for emulsions. The immersion depth is 70 to 260 mm with an installation length of 300 mm; batch sizes of 250 to 10,000 ml are recommended. The tool weighs 0.658 kg.

Same dimensions, different bearing arrangement
The S 50 N - G 45 F has the same stator, rotor and gap dimensions (45, 40 and 0.5 mm). It is made of PTFE and AISI 316L, has a specified operating temperature of 180 °C and an installation length of 290 mm with an immersion depth of 70 to 250 mm. The S 50 KG - HH - G 45 F also has a 45 mm stator and a 40 mm rotor, plus a mechanical seal and a vacuum rating of up to 1 mbar. The S 50 KD - G45M (0.5 to 15 l) has a narrower gap of 0.25 mm and a 40.5 mm rotor.

Fits
If a process in a beaker reaches its limits because 2 litres suddenly need to become 20, a drive with more power and a longer arm is required – but without having to switch to a completely different system. The T 50 digital ULTRA-TURRAX covers precisely this transition, from 0.25 to 30 litres (H₂O), with a speed range of 600 to 10,000 revolutions per minute. As with the smaller model, this is a drive unit only, without a dispersing tool.Constant speed even with varying viscosityThe electronic speed control maintains the set value even if the viscosity changes during the batch, with a maximum permissible viscosity of 5,000 mPas. A soft start reduces the start-up load, whilst electronic overload protection and an error code display ensure reliable operation. Without an attachment fitted, the noise level is 72 dB(A); the speed itself is displayed via an LED and can be adjusted continuously.Powerful drive for larger volumesWith a power input of 1,100 watts and an output of 700 watts, the T 50 digital significantly outperforms the smaller T 25 digital; the extension arm measures 16 millimetres in diameter and 220 millimetres in length. Measuring 115 x 355 x 139 millimetres and weighing 5.85 kilograms, the machine can still be guided by hand. It operates on 220 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz; a voltage variant of 100 to 120 volts is also available. It has an IP 20 protection rating in accordance with DIN EN 60529, and is suitable for ambient temperatures of 5 to 40 degrees Celsius with up to 80 per cent relative humidity.Tool change using the supplied wrenchesA socket wrench for changing the shaft and another for changing the dispersing tool are supplied with the drive unit; the dispersing tool itself is not included and must be selected to suit the application.
