Product information "IKA Tip xs box + Filter Tips, 1,920 pcs., sterile, for IKA PEN and IKA PETTE up to 10 µl, 0020017820"
For the IKA PEN 0.5-10 µl pipette, a matching tip provides a tight seal on the piston and therefore reliable dosing in the microlitre range. IKA Tip 10 µl tips are available in three packaging forms, from a bag for day-to-day routine work through the ordered 10x96 box to a sterile, filtered version for contamination-sensitive work.
The bag with 1,000 unsterile tips suits daily routine work without particular sterility requirements. The box with 960 tips in ten racks of 96 makes ordered removal at the bench easier. The Tip xs box + variant provides 1,920 sterile tips with a filter that retains aerosols, protecting both the sample from contamination by the pipette and the pipette from contamination by the sample, for example during PCR preparation or with sensitive biological samples.

Promotional items from the IKA Specials Q4/2026, valid until 31 December 2026. The crossed-out price is IKA’s recommended retail price. Our promotional price is net.The IKA PEN electronic single-channel pipette (MPN 0020025101) is designed for the microlitre range from 0.5 to 10 µl and thus covers typical microvolumes used in molecular biology, such as in PCR reactions or when adding enzymes and primers to a reaction mixture. As an air cushion pipette with an electronic micro drive, it operates with a fine increment of 0.01 µl and is tested according to ISO 8655. The slim, pen-shaped body weighs just 76 grams without the pipette tip, making it noticeably lighter to hold than traditional, pistol-shaped piston-operated pipettes, an advantage during frequently repeated pipetting steps in everyday laboratory work. This makes the model particularly suitable for workstations where very small volumes need to be reliably reproduced on a regular basis. Slim pen-style design for fatigue-free pipetting Instead of the traditional pistol shape, the IKA PEN features a slim, pen-like body. As a result, the grip feels different and, for many users, more natural in the hand, which reduces strain on the forearm and wrist during long, repetitive pipetting sequences. Anyone who pipettes many samples in series every day, for example, when preparing multiple PCR reactions or creating dilution series in the microlitre range, benefits from reduced effort per pipetting step. The low weight of 76 grams (excluding the pipette tip) further enhances this effect, as less muscle strength is required to hold and guide the pipette throughout the working day. In laboratories where several users share a single instrument, such as in shift work, this ergonomic design is particularly beneficial, as it accommodates different hand sizes and gripping habits equally well. DLC-coated stainless steel piston for reproducible results Volume dispensing is handled by a piston made of high-purity stainless steel, which is sealed with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating. This coating reduces friction in the narrow microlitre range and ensures a chemically inert, low-wear surface, which enhances the reproducibility of pipetted volumes over many cycles. At a nominal volume of 10 µl, the pipette achieves an accuracy of ±0.1 µl (±1.0 %) and a precision of ±0.04 µl (±0.4 %). Even at the lower end of the measuring range, at 10 % of the nominal volume (1 µl), accuracy and precision remain within a range suitable for practical use with ultra-low volumes, at ±0.025 µl (±2.5 %) and ±0.018 µl (±1.8 %). This reproducibility is particularly important for downstream analyses such as quantitative PCR, as even small deviations in the volume used can skew the results. The shaft components are partially autoclavable, which facilitates cleaning as part of contamination control. App control and battery life for everyday use The pipette can be paired with a smartphone or tablet via the IKA PEN app. The app enhances the user interface with a larger display and simplified controls, making it easier to set parameters than using the pipette’s small display alone. The removable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, with a capacity of 350 mAh at 3.7 V, enables up to 8 hours of continuous operation and is fully recharged in around 3 hours, ensuring the pipette remains operational throughout a full day in the laboratory, without the need to keep a spare battery on hand. Traceability and quality assurance in everyday laboratory work According to the datasheet, a conformity certificate in accordance with ISO 8655 is available for the IKA PEN. A factory calibration certificate is not part of the standard scope of delivery; IKA offers factory calibration certificates as a separately orderable service that is issued together with the product. Typical applications With its volume range of 0.5 to 10 µl, the IKA PEN is particularly well-suited to work steps where minute quantities of liquid need to be dispensed with precision: PCR reactions and master mix pipetting in molecular biologyAddition of primers, enzymes and dNTPs in genetic analysisSmall-volume sample preparation in pharmaceutical analysisDiagnostic routines involving frequently recurring micropipetting stepsPractical sessions and teaching in molecular biology laboratoriesBatch pipetting in quality control with high sample throughput Technical details Design / PrincipleAir cushion pipette with air cushion system OperationElectronically controlled micro drive Volume typeVariably adjustable Number of channels1 (single-channel system) Nominal volume10 µl Volume range0.5 to 10 µl Increment (step size)0.01 µl Accuracy at nominal volume (10 µl)±0.1 µl (±1.0 %) Precision at nominal volume (10 µl)±0.04 µl (±0.4 %) Accuracy at 50 % of nominal volume (5 µl)±0.075 µl (±1.5 %) Precision at 50 % of nominal volume (5 µl)±0.04 µl (±0.8 %) Accuracy at 10 % of nominal volume (1 µl)±0.025 µl (±2.5 %) Precision at 10 % of nominal volume (1 µl)±0.018 µl (±1.8 %) ComplianceTested according to ISO 8655 Piston materialHigh-purity stainless steel, DLC-coated (diamond-like carbon) AutoclavabilityPartially autoclavable (shaft components) Battery typeRechargeable lithium-ion battery, type 10440 Battery capacity350 mAh, 3.7 V Battery lifeUp to 8 hours Charging timeApprox. 3 hours Dimensions (W x D x H)15.5 x 28.2 x 204.3 mm Net weight0.076 kg (excluding pipette tip) Permissible ambient temperature5 to 40 °C Permissible relative humidityUp to 80 % Scope of delivery 1 x IKA PEN electronic single-channel pipette 0.5 to 10 µl (MPN 0020025101)1 x Integrated, rechargeable lithium-ion battery1 x Operating instructions / Quick start guide Individual requirements and procurement service We offer a range of suitable original accessories to help you set up a complete pipetting workstation based on the IKA PEN: IKA PEN.Stand (MPN 0020133075): Table stand for safe, space-saving storage of the pipetteIKA PEN.WiCo (MPN 0020118751): Wireless external trigger button, relieves strain on the thumb during frequent pipettingPipette tips in the appropriate microlitre volume, free from DNase, RNase and pyrogens In addition, we provide support with spare parts, individual calibration and the configuration of a complete pipetting workstation via our procurement service.
