IKA UTTD control Life Science Solution Disperser Set, DT-20 dispersing vessel, 400 to 8,000 rpm, 0010013296

Product information "IKA UTTD control Life Science Solution Disperser Set, DT-20 dispersing vessel, 400 to 8,000 rpm, 0010013296"

When it comes to homogenising tissue samples in life sciences research, one thing matters above all else: a reproducible, consistent result with no carry-over between samples. The UTTD control Life Science Solution combines the controllable ULTRA-TURRAX Tube Drive P control with DT-20 disposable dispersing vessels, each of which comes with its own rotor-stator assembly. Each sample is processed in its own vessel, which is disposed of after use, thereby ruling out cross-contamination between batches and eliminating the need for cleaning between runs.

DT-20 dispersion vessels with their own rotor-stator assembly

The set contains 25 DT-20 single-use dispersion vessels, each with a volume of 20 millilitres. Each vessel comes with its own rotor-stator assembly, which, when fitted to the drive, ensures rapid and uniform homogenisation of tissue, cartilage and bone samples. The hermetically sealable vessel serves simultaneously as a dispersing, storage and transport container; sample collection or the addition of media is carried out via a pierceable membrane in the lid, without having to open the vessel completely. Because each tube has its own rotor-stator assembly, the results do not vary from sample to sample due to wear or residues on the tool – a crucial factor in precision applications within bioscientific research.

OLED control for repeatable homogenisation protocols

The ULTRA-TURRAX Tube Drive P control covers a speed range of 400 to 8,000 revolutions per minute, adjustable in 10-rpm increments with a deviation of just 3 per cent, and is read and controlled via an OLED display. For research protocols that need to be reproduced exactly, time, energy and volume can be saved as experimental conditions; a turbo button boosts the speed to the maximum for short, intensive homogenisation steps. The drive can be connected to a computer via the USB-B interface, for example to the Labworldsoft laboratory equipment software. Measuring 122 x 54 x 178 millimetres and weighing 1.3 kilograms, the device remains compact on the laboratory bench; the power supply unit delivers 24 V DC at 1500 mA.

Typical applications

  • Homogenisation of tissue, cartilage and bone samples for precision life science applications
  • Life sciences research involving repeatable protocols and documented experimental conditions
  • Batch experiments in which each sample is processed in its own, non-reusable vessel
  • Preparation of tissue homogenates for downstream molecular biological analyses

As each DT-20 vessel comes with its own rotor-stator assembly, there is no need to clean the instrument itself between samples; only the drive remains in continuous operation. This reduces the time between two samples to simply loading the next tube, making throughput predictable for larger sample series.

Selection guide: Life Science Solution or other UTTD sets

This set is designed for the homogenisation of tissue samples using a rotor-stator assembly. For tablet disintegration in accordance with pharmacopoeia procedures, the UTTD control Pharma Solution with dissolver mixing vessels is more suitable; for IVD tissue samples taken directly from the surgical workflow requiring a simpler drive, the UTTD basic Tissue Solution with a ball-mixing vessel is recommended. Anyone wishing to reorder DT-20 vessels in larger volumes or different pack sizes, or who requires additional stirring and ball-mixing vessels for other tasks, will find the ULTRA-TURRAX Tube Drive P control drive unit or the ready-to-use Tube Drive P control Workstation as suitable alternatives.
