The principle of forced air circulation (“F” for Forced Air)

The key difference between the Memmert UF30 universal oven and static ovens (UN series) is the integrated, high-performance fan. The ‘F’ in the model designation stands for ‘Forced Air Circulation’. Why is this important for your application?

1. Faster drying: Active air movement removes moisture from the sample surface much more efficiently than natural convection. If you need to dry damp granules, painted parts or washed laboratory equipment, the UF30 significantly reduces the process time.
2. Uniform temperature distribution: The fan ensures continuous air circulation within the chamber. This prevents hot spots or cold zones. Even when the cabinet is fully loaded, the temperature remains virtually the same across all shelf levels. This is essential for standard-compliant testing (e.g. in accordance with DIN or ISO).
3. Rapid recovery times: After the door is opened, the UF30 returns to the set temperature in a flash thanks to active air circulation.

Unique heating technology: all-round radiant heat

One of Memmert’s hallmarks is its all-round heating. Unlike competitors, who often install heating coils only in the base or on the rear wall, the UF30’s heating elements are protected within fins on all four sides of the interior. This greatly increases the heat-emitting surface area. The result is extremely gentle heat transfer without localised overheating points (‘hotspots’). Your valuable samples are not scorched by direct heat radiation, but are heated evenly. This technology also ensures excellent energy efficiency.

Stainless steel: Hygienic, robust and durable

The Memmert UF30 universal cabinet is made almost entirely of high-quality, stainless steel (grade 1.4301).

• The interior: It is seamless, deep-drawn and features rounded corners. This means there are no crevices where dirt or dust can accumulate. Cleaning is completed with just a few wipes – an enormous advantage in cleanroom-like environments or food analysis.

Intuitive operation: ControlCOCKPIT (SingleDISPLAY)

The UF30 is controlled via the intuitive ControlCOCKPIT. In the standard version (SingleDISPLAY), this high-resolution TFT touchscreen display offers everything you need for routine operation without overwhelming you with unnecessary complexity.

• Touch & Turn: You select the function (temperature, fan speed, air damper position, timer) via touch and set the value precisely using the rotary control.
• Air exchange control: A key feature is the motorised exhaust air damper. You can set on the display how much humid air is to be vented from the cabinet (0% to 100% opening). This allows for precise control of the drying process.
• Timer functions: Set a running time or use the “SetpointWAIT” function. With this function, the timer only starts once the target temperature inside the chamber has actually been reached. This ensures that your sample is temperature-controlled for exactly the prescribed duration.

Safety for the laboratory and the sample

The Memmert UF30 universal cabinet is self-monitoring. An electronic temperature monitor (TWW, protection class 3.1) and a mechanical temperature limiter (TB, protection class 1) provide dual protection. Should the electronics fail, the mechanical protection takes over and switches off the heating before any danger arises.
