Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 514 H Ultrasonic Bath with Heating, 13.5 L, 20 to 80 °C, 3211

The Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 514 H heats up to an adjustable temperature of 20 to 80 °C with 600 watts and achieves a peak ultrasonic power of 860 watts. The tank measures 325 x 300 x 150 mm internally and has a capacity of 13.5 l.

Heating, setpoint and actual value

The temperature is set using the buttons; the display shows the setpoint and actual values for the bath temperature. Protection against delayed boiling and dry-run protection for the heater are built in. Compared to the DT 510 H (400 watts), the heating power is 50 per cent higher; accordingly, the current consumption is 3.6 A at 230 V, whilst for the unheated DT 514 it is 1.0 A.

Ultrasonic and time control

Four transducer systems deliver a peak power of 860 watts and a rated power of 215 watts at 35 kHz. SweepTec automatically prevents standing waves in the acoustic field; this is complemented by a pulse function and DEGAS degassing. The timer covers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes (± 5 per cent); there is also a continuous operation mode and the unit switches off twelve hours after the last button press.

Tank, drain and base

The tank and housing are made of 1.4301 stainless steel; the tank is 1.0 mm thick. The working capacity of 9.0 l can be read from the fill level mark. A G 1/2 left-hand ball valve is provided for draining; a hose connector and hose are included. The bath measures 355 x 325 x 305 mm externally, weighs 9.0 kg and has side handles. The power cable is 2 m long and has an IP 33 protection rating.

Which depth is suitable?

If you have items to clean that are taller, compare the tub depth: 150 mm for the DT 514 H, 200 mm for the DT 514 BH, which consequently has a capacity of 18.7 l. The heating power is also 600 watts for both models.

Accessories

Suitable accessories include the K 14 hanging basket (275 x 245 x 50 mm, up to 10 kg), the GH 14 equipment holder, the D 514 lid, the DE 514 perforated lid for four beakers, the KAH 14.3 cassette holder for DIN cassettes, the SM 14 silicone studded mat and the KW 14 hanging tray. Clamps EK 10 to EK 250 hold laboratory flasks with a diameter of up to 85 mm.

Frequently asked questions

What bath temperature can be set? 20 to 80 °C with a heating power of 600 watts.

Is the bath different from that of the DT 514? No, the bath is identical (325 x 300 x 150 mm). The difference lies in the heating system and the protection against boil-dry.

Where is the drain? On the left-hand side, as a G 1/2 ball valve.
