Product information "Bürkle Liquid Cup Sampler, V4A stainless steel, 100 ml, 5357-0001"
Anyone wishing to take a sample from a specific point in a tank, basin or open container without having to reach across the entire vessel or decant the contents needs a tool with sufficient reach and a clean collection cup. The Liquid CupSampler from Bürkle is a stainless steel V4A (1.4404) sample scoop designed precisely for this purpose. It collects liquids of varying viscosities, even if they contain particles, at a precisely specified depth.
1,060-millimetre reach for targeted sampling
The CupSampler measures 1,060 millimetres in total and can be immersed to a depth of up to 950 millimetres; the handle alone is 1,000 millimetres long. At the lower end is a collection cup with a capacity of 100 millilitres and an external diameter of 55 millimetres, which collects the sample as soon as it reaches the target point. With this handle reach, the sample can be extracted without having to lean over the rim of a deep container or use a step stool, which helps maintain good posture, particularly when taking frequent samples from the same container.
Also suitable for viscous and particulate media
Unlike a simple ladle, Bürkle states that the CupSampler also collects liquids with higher viscosity and containing particles without the cup becoming clogged. This makes it suitable for applications in the chemical, food and cosmetics industries, where samples are rarely purely aqueous and the consistency can vary from batch to batch.
Screw-on cup for switching between samples
The collection cup can be unscrewed and thus thoroughly cleaned before the next sample is taken. When taking a series of samples from several batches or preparations, this prevents residues from the previous sample from contaminating the next one. The handle and cup are made entirely from V4A stainless steel, ensuring that even strong cleaning agents do not damage the surface.
Batch sampling in goods-in inspection
If several drums or tank wagons from a single delivery are sampled in succession to detect variations between batches, the CupSampler can be used directly one after the other for each sample. After each use, only the cup is unscrewed and cleaned; the rest of the tool remains in use as is. This is quicker than with samplers where the entire assembly must be dismantled between two samples.
Other liquid samplers available on request
Bürkle also supplies collectors for liquids with different opening designs, such as the liquid collector with a thumb-operated opening, which, like the CupSampler, is made from V4A stainless steel. The difference lies in how the sample enters the collection container: With the CupSampler, an open cup is immersed directly into the liquid; with a collector featuring an opening mechanism, the sample is only released at the target point via a flap or by pressing with the thumb. For applications where an opening is only required at the target point, it is worth considering this alternative before placing an order.
Where the limitations lie
The CupSampler is a target-point sampling tool, not an all-layer sampler. Anyone requiring a representative sample from the entire depth of a tank or tank wagon is better served by the Bürkle immersion vessel, which operates with flow-optimised flow flaps. The CupSampler is not the right choice for petroleum products and other media in potentially explosive atmospheres, as it has no documented explosion protection. For such applications, the Ex immersion bottle and the Mini immersion bomb are available, which Bürkle specifies for use in explosion protection zone 0.
Typical applications
- Targeted sampling from tanks, basins or open containers in the chemical industry
- Sampling in food production, including viscous or particulate-laden media
- Quality control in cosmetics production
- Batch sampling from multiple batches or lots; quick to clean thanks to the screw-off beaker

Service and procurement
If, in addition to spot samples, you occasionally require all-layer or ex-samples, it is best to coordinate your order with LT Laborhandel straight away to include the appropriate immersion containers, rather than placing a second order later. A consolidated order can also be arranged for larger quantities required for multiple workstations. If you have any questions regarding the appropriate design, please contact LT Laborhandel directly for assistance.
