The Memmert IF260 incubator offers an internal volume of 256 litres and is designed to accommodate up to nine shelves for larger sample runs; the maximum total load is 300 kg. The temperature range, with forced air circulation, is from +20 to +80 °C.
Interior and air circulation
Inside, the IF260 features deep-drawn ribbing and is heated all round; the rear wall of the housing is made of fully galvanised sheet steel. The low-noise fan can be adjusted in 10 % increments, whilst an exhaust air damper mixes in preheated fresh air.
Operation and calibration
The IF260 measures temperature using a DIN Class A Pt100 sensor in a 4-wire configuration; the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C. The digital countdown timer covers target times from 1 minute to 99 days; the SetpointWAIT function ensures that the process time only starts once the setpoint temperature has been reached. The control panel is also used to set the recirculation fan speed and the exhaust air damper position; three temperature values can be freely calibrated. The internal data logger can be read, managed and organised via the Ethernet interface; a time-limited trial version of the accompanying software is available for download. In the event of a power cut, the last active programme sequence remains stored, whilst a self-diagnostic system assists with fault-finding.
Temperature protection and door
A mechanical temperature limiter, protection class 1 according to DIN 12880, switches off the heating when the temperature exceeds the maximum cabinet temperature by approximately 20 °C. The fully insulated stainless steel door with an inner glass door is secured by a two-point locking mechanism.
Size options in the IF series
With nine possible shelves and a maximum total load capacity of 300 kg, the IF260 is designed for extensive sample series. For smaller quantities, the IF160 with a capacity of 161 litres is often sufficient; for larger batches requiring a double-leaf door, the IF450 offers more space with a capacity of 449 litres.

The IF260 can be ordered ex-works with, amongst other things, a security lock, a left-hand door hinge, interior lighting and a socket, as well as a potential-free fault signal contact; cable and conduit entries in various diameters and positions, as well as a 4-20 mA interface, are also available. Accessories include a levelling base frame, additional perforated trays, an installation frame and an AtmoCONTROL licence; a roller frame can also be ordered ex-works.
