With an internal volume of 161 litres, the Memmert IF160 incubator covers a medium-sized chamber range; two shelves are fitted as standard, with the option to fit up to eight. The temperature range with forced air circulation is +20 to +80 °C, and the maximum permissible total load is 210 kg.
Heating and air turbine
The interior of the IF160 features deep-drawn ribbing and is heated all round on four sides; the housing has a fully galvanised sheet steel rear panel on the outside. The electronically controlled fan operates quietly and can be adjusted in 10 per cent increments; an exhaust air damper mixes in preheated fresh air.
Control and Diagnosis
The temperature is measured by a DIN Class A Pt100 sensor using a 4-wire measurement method; the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C. The IF160 is operated via the SingleDISPLAY with a TFT colour graphic display. A self-diagnostic system assists with troubleshooting; the data logger can be read out and managed via the Ethernet interface, and the programme sequence is retained in the event of a power failure.
Temperature limit and lockout
In accordance with DIN 12880, a mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 switches off the heating when the temperature rises to approximately 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature. The fully insulated stainless steel door with an internal glass door is secured by a two-point locking mechanism.
Choose between two neighbouring models
With eight possible racks and a maximum total load capacity of 210 kg, the IF160 is suitable for running several parallel sample runs. Those who require a smaller chamber volume will find the IF110, with a capacity of 108 litres, to be a suitable alternative; those who regularly incubate larger batches will find the IF260, with a capacity of 256 litres, offers more space.
