Thermodynamic efficiency through advanced Peltier technology

In the demanding fields of microbiology, the stability testing of pharmaceuticals in accordance with ICH guidelines, or the cultivation of insects and cell cultures, absolutely precise and stable temperature control is essential. The Memmert IPP1060ecoplus completely redefines the standards for incubators in the 1,000-litre class. Instead of a conventional, fault-prone compressor cooling system using climate-damaging refrigerants, this high-tech unit operates exclusively with state-of-the-art Peltier elements (based on the heat pump principle). The system cools and heats using exactly the same semiconductor component. The process-related advantage: in continuous operation, the unit consumes up to 90 per cent less energy than comparable compressor incubators. As Peltier elements can be controlled with extreme precision and without delay, the heating, cooling and recovery times following the opening of the door are drastically minimised. Dangerous temperature overshooting, which could irreversibly destroy sensitive samples such as protein crystals or delicate cell cultures, is physically virtually ruled out by this precise control.

TwinDISPLAY: Maximum process reliability and GLP compliance

The ‘plus’ suffix in the model name indicates the integration of the high-end TwinDISPLAY control system. This dual, high-resolution TFT colour display offers users full control over all process-critical parameters. Two independent Pt100 temperature sensors (DIN Class A) continuously monitor each other within the chamber via a 4-wire measurement circuit. In the event of a potential hardware fault, the intact sensor immediately and seamlessly takes over the function of the other. The intelligent SetpointWAIT function also ensures that the programmed process and hold time only begins once the exact target temperature has been physically reached throughout the entire interior. For strictly certified laboratories in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) or FDA requirements, the internal data logger records all measured values in a tamper-proof manner for at least ten years. The supplied AtmoCONTROL software enables the convenient creation of complex temperature profiles on a PC and their seamless transfer via USB or Ethernet interface.

Enormous usable volume with whisper-quiet operation

With a fully usable internal volume of 1,060 litres, the IPP1060ecoplus is the ideal large-scale unit for laboratories with extremely high sample throughput or for the simultaneous storage of bulky test batches. Despite its enormous capacity, the Peltier incubator operates almost silently and with virtually no vibration, as there is no heavy compressor to transmit mechanical vibrations to the sample vessels. This is an invaluable analytical advantage for sensitive biological cultures. To ensure that the thermal microclimate inside the chamber is not disrupted during visual sample inspection, this large-volume unit is fitted with double inner glass doors behind the outer doors.

Hygienic design and high-quality materials for sterile environments

Memmert makes no compromises when it comes to durability and hygiene. Both the textured outer casing and the seamless, fully welded interior are made entirely from high-quality, corrosion-resistant stainless steel. In stark contrast to cheap plastic interiors, this stainless steel offers outstanding microbiological safety. It can be thoroughly disinfected using all standard laboratory cleaning agents, does not release any gases and provides absolutely no breeding ground for bacteria or fungi. The Memmert IPP1060ecoplus is therefore the most economical, safest and most environmentally friendly solution for the most demanding incubation processes from 0 °C to +70 °C.
