Memmert Peltier-cooled incubator IPP1060ecoplus, 1,060 l, 0 to +70 °C, TwinDISPLAY

The Memmert Peltier-cooled incubator IPP1060ecoplus offers 1,060 litres of internal capacity whilst having the same external width and height as the IPP750ecoplus; the additional capacity is due to the greater internal depth of 850 mm compared with 600 mm. It is designed for large-scale cultivation below room temperature, adjustable between 0 and +70 °C, and, at 1,720 mm in external height, remains lower than the IPP1400ecoplus, which stands at 1,913 mm. As with the IPP750ecoplus, protection is provided by an electronic temperature monitoring system with a mechanical TB limiter; the TwinDISPLAY and the dual Pt100 sensors remain unchanged.

Control and safety

Two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A quality monitor each other and automatically take over the function of the other in the event of a failure. Temperature monitoring is carried out electronically, supplemented by the mechanical temperature limiter TB. A self-diagnostic system aids fault-finding, and the process time can be started via the SetpointWAIT function only once the setpoint temperature has been reached, which ensures comparable start conditions for larger batches.

Door and installation

The fully insulated stainless steel doors with a 2-point locking mechanism feature internal glass doors, through which the interior can be viewed whilst the outer doors are open. The unit is mounted on castors that can be moved and locked in place; when installing, a clearance of at least 15 cm must be maintained at the rear from the wall, 5 cm at the sides and 20 cm from the ceiling. Up to 14 shelves are available inside the chamber; two electropolished stainless steel grid shelves are fitted as standard, with a total load capacity of 200 kilograms, or 20 kilograms per shelf.

Selection guide

If the capacity of the IPP750ecoplus is no longer sufficient and there is an additional 250 mm of depth available in the room, the IPP1060ecoplus is the logical upgrade. If more shelves are required, the IPP1400ecoplus is the closer fit, offering up to 28 shelves (instead of 14), a capacity of 1,360 litres, and doors with a glass panel and heated inner glass panes.

Typical applications

The IPP1060ecoplus is designed for cultivation below room temperature, with a temperature range of 0 to +70 °C and a setting accuracy of 0.1 °C:

• Incubation of samples and cultures at temperatures at least 20 °C below room temperature
• Incubation of larger quantities on up to 14 shelves with an internal depth of 850 mm
• Time-controlled temperature programmes with SetpointWAIT and a timer of up to 99 days, programmed via AtmoCONTROL
• Processes requiring validation, supported by IQ/OQ documents that can be ordered and the AtmoCONTROL FDA licence for 21 CFR Part 11

The IPP-ecoplus series comprises seven chamber sizes, all featuring TwinDISPLAY and the same temperature setting range from 0 to +70 °C.

The same chamber size is also available in the SingleDISPLAY range as the IPP1060eco, without TwinDISPLAY redundancy and without the TwinDISPLAY-exclusive options.
